Hi, A friend on mine owns a KK CRD and needs to change the suspension to it. Normally if it was a KJ I wouldn't need any help but for a KK things are a little bit more complicated. KK are not as common over here in the UK as over in the US or even in Europe. My friend isn't after a lift as we understand it, 3" + etc., he is after really getting a good suspension in that will give him a good ride and allow him to tow his XJ to events or his caravan on holiday, so the max he will consider is 1.5" lift. Now a combination of OME coils and Bilstein shock/struts will do (or all OME) but I need to confirm the part numbers, so: Coils Front OME 2790 Coils - his KK is a CRD Rear OME 2731 Coils - Heavy duty Strut & Shocks Front Bilstein 24-139168 Rear Bilstein 24-139175 This combination should yield about 1.5" (maybe 2") with a decent ride quality, correct? Please can someone confirm the part number are the correct ones. Fil. |

More like 2.5" and a good ride quality. There's really no lift out there (that replaces anything) that will only give 1-1.5" of lift unless you just add a clevis etc. I'll have to do some checking on the parts numbers for the shocks. |

Just installed a set of H&R 1.5" lift springs with Gabriel Ultra's all the way around on my 02 and absolutely love them. Springs will run you around $225 for the 4. These springs are progressive and made in Germany. I ended up at approx. 20.5" front and 21.0" rear and the ride is awesome both on and off road(a benefit of progressive springs). I'll probably go a little higher by adding a JBA top plate, JBA 3/8" clevis spacer and one additional rear upper after the holidays. That should put me at approx. 21.5" all the way around. |

Yes, H&R coils are great piece of kit, was one of my options to when it came to lifting my KJ, sadly for the KK H&R only make a lowering kit so defeating the point here of what we wan to achieve. |

Going to be almost impossible to find that and have springs heavy enough to hold up the CRD |

Tommud is right. For KK in the end the only real option is Old Man Emu or Ironman (some how very difficult to find over here in the UK for Jeep KJ & KK in the right specification) over here in UK. So my friend has decided to buy off the shelf OME 1.5" HD for the KK and keep his life simple

So 2.5". It's not really as extreme as you think it'll be. |

It will improve the suspension if done right. See OME lift info above for a good lift kit. Stay away from cheap spacer lifts. Those are trouble. |

I am looking for a similar setup. I have an 08 KK - Gasoline. I really do not want a lift but as I understand it there isn't a way to drastically improve handling without some kind of lift so I am willing to compromise. I would like to keep the lift as minimal as possible. After some research here is the setup I am looking at: OME2730 (Rear springs) OME2926 (Front springs) Bilstein 24-139168 (Front shocks) Bilstein 24-139175 (Rear shocks) Does anyone have any other suggestions? Again I want to keep the lift as minimal as possible while still improving the ride quality. Also how much of a lift can I expect from this? As a side note, is there an alternative to the rear Bilsteins that isn't yellow? The front are hidden but I am not a fan of the idea of having the bright yellow shocks showing from the rear |

Run OME 927/731 springs. Extra 1/4", but you get the stiffer springs to help with handling. 2.5" of lift with that. Also my Bilsteins are the typical silver. I'd have to check the part number to see which those are. Either way, generally the yellow ones are factory replacements if I remember correctly. So 5100, 5150, 7100, 7150, etc are usually all the silver color. |

Do I have the wrong part number for the rear Bilsteins? It says the 24-139175 is 4600 series. |

I think I found the right Bilsteins for the rear, 24-139168. Now I am not sure if 33-185552 is right for the front since they are the 4600 series. |
