Hi all!
Many of you have seen my numerous annoying posts on ajor lol
finally made it onto here (thanks fouros)
a little about me..... im 31 from byron bay originally but live in coorparoo, brisbane now. my fiance and i go out in our KJ every weekend usually doing tours from the dirty weekends book. we both love our kj, we were looking at trading in on a jk but we both decided we were too attached to car car ( our kjs name lol) atm it has 2" lift...couldnt say what type it was on the car when we bought it last year. recently fitted 245 70 16 pirelli scorpions atr's looking at getting a snorkel and bar when $$$$$ permit.
Basically we love exploring sth east qld/northern nsw with the kj and cant wait to do more. Fav spots would be the beach in bunjalong np near illuka and condamine gorge.

we might even see you down south as we might be going down to illuka for the day to that beach in bunjalong np..i think 1 end is black rock the other shark bay??? i could be wrong tho
am keen for a sundown and burrum coast trip asap too

also. i got two more questions

1. what do you do for a front recovery point if i dont have a front bar?
i want a arb or tjm bar soon but will have to wait to a bit more spare $$$ comes my way. Ive gone to arb to see what i can do but all they say is there is no where to put a recovery point
Oh, does the extra weight add much to fuel usage?

2. where did you get your snorkels from and where was it installed? I read most self install, but there is nooooooooooo way im cutting the car lol one mistake and ill be a dead man ( the mrs loves the car)

hahah people assume ( as i would) im some psycho cause of the nickname
its just from a gig i did years ago, i was exhausted and sweaty... i had the flu and when someone came backstage and annoyed me i told them to pi$$ off.... and then it got around the byron bay/lismore bands and music community that i was an angryassdrummer lol dont worry im not angry or a psycho i just find that nickname hilarious
plus its the only one ill remember each time i need to sign in, if i change it now ill never be able to sign in again....goldfish memory

You might be able to source a Mopar Nudge Bar (with recovery points) from Leo Muller Chrysler Jeep, he had some for $375 a short time ago. Check out his estore:

Wow that's the deep end really quickly.

That Mopar Nudge Bar mounts with two brackets that bolt into the front end (using the original tow point bolt holes - either side). The brackets that the Nudge Bar mount onto contain eyes which take shackles - so giving you two recovery points. You will always need to use an equaliser strap to spread the load between these two point in a recovery situation. Rear recovery is best done (IMHO) with that standard Mopar tow bar and recovery hitch insert. Others may have other views.

Angry, I made up a hook type recovery point which I have taken off as I now have a nudge bar. You are welcome to it if you want it.
Using the original tiedown mount, I cut the loop of it base plate, bought a recovery hook from ARB and it bolts onto the base plate using the existing holes. It all just bolts back in its original place. As I said you can have mine if you like as I now longer have a use for it.I live in Grange which is not to far from you. :lol:

mate i have a TJM T16 nudge bar with mounts that i removed when i fitted the bull bar,

its even got a UHF antenna Bracket still fitted
