So I decided to take the kids to the Zoo today as Karen was at work, on the way home I had a small bingle with a Mazda3. I was driving up the Pacific Hwy in Killara (next to the new speeding camera). The road bends to the right as you go throught the intersection, anyway I was in the right lane (3 lanes wide), M3 was in the centre lane and she (P Plater) decided to merge into my lane. Well the STT's didn't like it one bit, they (front left) took hold of her front drivers door and gave it a real work out. She now has a big circle on the door and some bent metal  , mine looks OK but I'm getting an alignment tomorrow and a good check over to be sure everything is OK. If I had the stock rims on and 235's I'd have some other problems I'm sure. Fingers crossed I don't have any issues this the front left but I will check to make sure just to be safe.

LOL, no mikey but I did think about it. As she couldn't stop crying I didn't think it was a good idea to get the camera out, she only bought it last week (new).....

Thanks lads, yes kids are OK. They kept watching Dora without any real trouble.

So I had a wheel alignment and that was it, no problems :D . Told the guy and his GF, they are going to foot the bill so I'm happy about that.

On my way to a meeting this morning, in my producers X5, and we hit a cyclist
The guy was in the wrong, even the police agreed, and he was fine, luckily it was low speed.
Infact, he rode on to work afterwards, but he did lose a bit of bark on his knee and cheek.
Did some choice panel damage on the front quarter, side mirror and door.
I was in the passenger seat, as his head (with helmet) smacked into my window, lucky it was fully up too.
I saw the helmet deform as it absorbed the shock, just amazing, and worth every penny.
Not something I want to experience again in a hurry, but everyone walked away, it could have been so much worse.
M.

Geezzzzz..

Glad he was OK..

Cycling Helmets are worth everycent. and It pays not to go cheap on them. I was involved with the Qld Ed dept Safe Cycling many yrs ago and would print all the brouchures for why helments where needed, also a friend of mine was hit by a "Hit and Run" at school, he was basically fine, but, no helment, and did recieve a small amout of brain damage for it that he would not have if he had been wearing a real helmet. (he was only wearing one of those skull cap things) . The Real Helmets do as you say, absorb the hit, and they do it well.

If you have a $10.00 Head, buy a $10.00 helment, I myself paid just on $300.00 for mine...

EDIT>>>>>>> I Can'T sp ellll,....

Yeah, I've just bought a bike and getting back into it, now my $60 cool skater type helmet just doesn't seem good enough, it would not flex much at all.
Might have to re-evaluate the dome situation.
