Since the Misadventure at cityview who has updated thier tools I know i have i bought a new Metric Imperial 1/2" drive socket set with sockets from 8,mm to 25 mm a 1/2" to 3/4" drive adapter a deep well 18mm and deep well 21 mm socket AND A 36mm SOCKET and a nice set of rachet spanners |

yeah i got the non flex head trate tool brand spanners with a lifetime warranty oh i also have a set of spring compressors , a couple of shifters , file, stanly knife, sockets, torx bits, solder, a hammer , hacksaw blades recovery kit, spare headlight globes, driving light globes , 100mph tape, universal tape this really cool rubberised high pressure tape multitool, linesman pliers rope , wire |

Team J.a.G.'s mishap a week ago brought home to many of us the need to have a good tool kit on board for those (hopefully rare) occasions when something drastic has to be done to get you out of a sticky situation. I certainly have updated my tool kit since then. I currently have: A set of long reach 3/8" drive sockets 8-19mm with extension and ratchet A set of flexihead ratchet combination spanners 8-19mm A set of stubby combination spanners 10-19mm A 21mm long reach socket 1/2" drive A 36mm socket with 1/2" drive adaptor A 1/2" drive wheel nut socket 1/2" drive ratchet and extension 1/2" drive torque wrench and speedbrace Philips and straight blade screwdrivers Binding wire, gaffer tape, insulating tape, self amalgamating tape DIY hose clip set rope and cord, sharp knife pliers, side cutters shifters, pipe pliers Tubeless tyre plugging kit Still have to throw in a hammer or two I think that's all. What do you have? Oh, I forgot - I've also got the full workshop manual on my laptop! Don't usually take that with me for a weekend drive but it will certainly be there for the long trips. Plus of course the HF radio to get me in contact with JeepAssist! |

Just read pipeliner's post about the laptop - i'll second that. My probs seem to be mainly electrical - so a test pen, bits of wire, heat shrink are in the kit. (in addition to most of what's posted above) I like the sandwiches recommendation. maybe No1 on the 'emergency repair kit' is an Engel (with standalone battery) and lots of cool cool beverages... |
