After reading tales of woe from cmohr and CD I started to get parinoid about things that go "bump on the trail" or sometimes in the night!
Hotest Saturday afternoon this year seemed a good time to take all the STTs off the KJ and throw the original AT Goodyear rubber back on "Coopers Tyres are hard to bead break with crowbar and a lump of wood". Several shandys and two gallons of sweat later I'm very relieved that the transfer case isn't stuffed or the front diff or the rear one for that matter and I can now hear myself think when driving over 60KM/Hour.. the speedo even gives the right spped again.
So the moral is if your running muddies and lots of noises are coming from under the car its probably time to balance the wheels again.
I now have to find some 17" steel rims to put the STT's on for a rainy day.

Yeah, I find it doesn't take long at all for my 31/10.5/15s to go way out of balance and start making extra noises and wobbles. Put the ATZ's back on over the weekend, and alls quiet and smooth again..

Having Two complete tyre sets does really pay for itself.
