I was out at the Sydney Caravan, Camping & 4WD Show on Monday afternoon, where James and Lynn Thorpe (aka GI-Frog) spotted me coming into the carpark, we tagged along and had a good time checking out camper trailers for the Frogs.

I'm probably going back later today specifically to look at lights (Cmohr..."you can never have to many lights"). I'm looking for a couple fo good driving lights, legal for onroad use, that can be mounted in the middle of my nudge bar. Any recommendations or suggestions?

I have Hella 4000 Compacts which seem to me to be proportioned nicely for the KJ. They certainly produce a goodly amount of light.

Most lights are legal for on-road use as long as they are wired so they can only be activated when the headlights are on main beam and extinguish when you go to dipped beam.

i will second a vote for the Hella 4000 Compacts

better output than my narva 175's or my Procomp 6" lamps

you might even be able to get a hid version as well if you want to spend the $$$$$$

I have the lightforce 140's and would not recomend them, nice bright light but the focus is crap, not a patch on the ciebe's I had on the XJ.

Mate, i got the I.P.F sports XS one pencil the other a spreader, i find them pretty good.

Thanks for all the light advice. Sadly, there wasn't much in the way of bargains at the Show, certainly not of the Hella variety. I'll bide my time watching for them.

I got those new Narva 225's they are unreal, and I got them cheap at the Brissy show..

Glend, how did G.I frog get on with his camper trailer, did he buy one yet or just looking? I just put a deposit down on a Cub camper a Daintree L E should arrive early July(have'nt heard from frog since camp coffs)

Well I think GI-frog will need to speak for himself about what he intends to do about the camper. He and Lynn did spend a lot of time looking over the Cub range. It all started with a comment about a 'cute' little trailer (one of those knock downed ones that you assemble yourself), then moved onto looking over the Exodus, and all of these $35 -50k plus things. I think the CUB was attactive to them as it seemed to be good value for money, and suited their needs but he'll need to comment on any intentions that they might have.

Still looking but saw some great camper trailers some at a good price and then there where others that you have to take out a second,thrid and a fourth moragte just to buy one. More research and saving I think, like a couple from cub, like one from Gic trailers (regent park nsw) all in one pop up tent and trailer package it looked smart and easy to raise and lower show price around $4300 like I said more research .
