Howdy all.

Just returned form driving 3000km in 10 days with the kj. Started from Brissie, then Stanthorpe, Lightning Ridge, Trilby Station (Bourke), Charleville & back to Brissie. First big trip for the kj with the roof top tent setup and it performed great!

Just have a wish list of a fridge and second battery now!!

Managed to split the boot on the front driveshaft between the transfer case and front diff so now makes a hell of a racket in 4wd, hopefully will be repaired under the used car warranty this week.

Here is a pic from Trilby Station, about 130km west of Bourke, NSW.

Sounds like a great trip. How long were you driving around on that split boot? A split boot alone won't make much noise, well as long as bits of it aren't hitting anything as it rotates. Where did it split, in the fold, on the edge, lengthwise?

If it is the same one of mine that went on the transfer case end of the prop shaft, the boot is not replaceable, go to replace the whole CV, I think from memory mine was $118us + freight ex RockAuto.
