The Carter P76148M fuel pump module assembly is manufactured in China. While Carter Fuel Systems engineers and designs its products and heavy-duty lines in the United States (such as in Logansport, Indiana), standard OE replacement fuel pump modules like the P76148M for vehicles such as the Dodge Ram are produced overseas in certified international facilities
I looked up every fuel pump manufacturer I have listed, and every one of them with the exception of one stated their fuel pumps may be sourced Globally aka China.

According to the internet:
INTANK FUEL PUMPS <>SOURCE LOCATIONS:
Airtex E7181M <>United States, Mexico, Spain, and China
CARTER P76148M <>China
Delphi # FG1224 <>Mexico and China
Mopar: 5143160AB <>United States, Mexico, and Canada or via certified tier suppliers globally
Mopar: 52121447AD <>Mexico
Spectra Premium SP7181M <>(Canada and the U.S.), Spectra Premium also partners with trusted global manufacturers
As our vehicles age, there is less interest in making quality parts for them. I think an in tank connection, actually failed on my first China pump, because it runs 20 seconds, and stops with key on, but no fuel pumping. I shall find out today. If it fails again, it will be getting another inline pump, or I am going to cut a hole in the floor of the trunk for easy replacement. I actually have a Cummins inline pump that I use for transferring fuel from my old Freightliner, that I replaced with a Fass years ago.
