I ordered thr Rocky Road Outfitters 2.5" lift for my Liberty. I read some good stuff about it but I would like to get you guys opinion about it if you have any. It hasn't gotten here yet. I got my SkyJacker hydroshocks, and my 16x8 Cragar Soft blacks will be here on Aug 2 with the Grabber AT2's to follow(245/75/16's). What do you guys know about this stuff? I hope good things but tell me the truth regardless.

people have posted that the spring coil compressors that you rent at autozone etc. do not work? why? what style do you need to use. anyone got a pic of the one that works?

This type of spring compressor works quite well. Used it to install 2 Rusty's Lifts and a OME lift

I'd stay away from this type. Had one fly apart on me. It is just cheap all thread with the nut just held on with a pin. The above is much sturdier and one-piece.

I just ripped mine off two weeks ago, it was the bane of my existence.

Some people seem to use it and dont experience total failure, but I have trouble believing them.

My upper ball joints blew twice and the lower ball joints once. The stock struts are demolished as well.

If for some reason you decide to keep it and install it, you will notice your first problem within 1 day. Squeeking. I dont remember where was the proper place to grind metal off and my spacers are already buried in someone elses garage.

There are numerous flaming threads about this lift, so I am not sure where the positive reports came from.

I have no beef with the rear spacers though, a camel couldn't screw those things up.

As far as those wheels, they own. I have set and I love em.

Well I guess that sucks but after all my own research I went ahead and ordered the darn thing a week ago and it should be here any day. I guess we'll have to see how things work out.
SHould I replace the front stock shocks as well as the rear?

Which lift did you order? If it's the OTT lift, good luck. I wouldn't put it in the KJ if I were you. If you have one of the Rockfather lifts, you'll be fine. I have been running the Rockfather ll lift in my '03 for two years and I like it a lot.

If you ordered the budget 2.5" lift, it is the OTT. When you get it call and ask if you can send back the front spacers in exchange for the front RRO 2.125" Combo. It's a much better front set up.
