Old Navy, I have about 900 miles on my new crd, should i just put a provent filter on while i wait for your filter. And I dont know if if missed it but what is the projected price of your filter
Don't have a clue as to pricing, but in range of ProVent or maybe a tad more due to being machined aluminum.

What you do to solve the oil in the CAC problem is up to you, you have the option of Elephant hose mod (temp I hope) the Provent at present. I would do one of those as soon as possible to prevent future problems. Maybe I should tell you to wait for the new CCV filter, but I really don't feel that I can do that knowing what the oil problem can be, and I don't want to tell you to do something that is illegal to do and is not good for the enviroment. That is for you to decide.

If you put a ProVent on then I would stick with it just because of the dollars you invested in the thing and the time involved in the install.

What ours will do if the company get it right is stop the oil and allow the oil to drain back to valve cover and the nasty vapors be blown on through to be burned as it should be done.

My intake is done for, I am sure. I caught wind of the CCV trouble, and the wet air filter, way too late to be proactive. At this point I am of the opinion that I will buy my Belly Hiccy Snorkle parts and my Old Navy CCV and then wait for an appropriate excuse to get the dealer to inspect and replace my CAC under warranty. If I have to pay for part of that to make the deal go through, so be it.

Then I will install the Belly Hiccy Snorkle and the Old Navy CCV and be better-than-OEM, forever!

he means the stock air box from the gasser liberty, I think he is refering to it that way because somebody suggested it was used in th eCRD because the extra flow could cause one.

Doesn't the elephant mod dump stuff into the air that otherwise shouldn't be? I recall reading that.

More acronyms :!: Now we have the EHM for the CCV to keep the oil out of our CAC. Someone needs to do a "What I learned on the CRD forum" It could consist almost entirely of uppercase letters that dont actually spell anything.

Yes you are absolutely correct. Why would I want to spell out Elephant Hose Modification, 24 key strokes, when I can use 3? :D :-)r

I am waiting for OldNavy - but I just don't feel right doing the EHM. I don't think I'm having much of a problem though if at all.

Dead stop for now due to design & mfg problems. I finally after over a month and half of waiting am getting a new CAC & hoses installed, then I will be able to start testing a small mod in the current design. I don't look for sucess with this change however and if it doesn't the engineer may be more agreable to making changes to conform to the sucessuful CCV I came up with for the VW TDI diesel.

Old Navy,

I have 2 questions:

1. How's the CCV filter for the Libby coming? I'm EHM-ing and am anxious for your alternative.

2. My son and his wife are about to buy 2 new TDIs. Are there any of your TDI versions of the CCV filter still available? OR has VW corrected the problem in the newer models?

1. My last communication with the engineer at the company back in they have set the date to redesign the filter up to Sept, and here it is Sept and I have had no word on any progress since mid July. They wanted a new test of current model with some mods I made which is underway now. I will not elaborate as I haven't got enough miles on it since the CAC was replaced to make any real predictions. I think the few changes that are needed to make this a real excellent working filter is not a big change and should not hold up production once we reach that point.

I say just go with the Elephant hose mod. It may be illegal but most likely so will Old Navy's mod. When you change any manufactures engines emission it is usually illegal.

Old Navy's filter won't drip, or smoke and will hide itself much better than the EHM (I did that @ 800 mi.) when I have to take it to the dealer. In other words, I won't have to R and R it.
