Yes, 5500 miles after Provent install, 1st egr failed. 2nd egr failed 12K miles after that. Provent helps keep oil out of intake, CAC and egr afv system. Egr has a mind of its own and appears failure prone regardless. I've heard of one run for over 15K miles in California on ULSD (BP), with only 7500 miles on LSD and it failed also.
And this poll is attempting to associate two events that are not necessarily related. I voted NO, but could loose my EGR tomorrow, or next week, or next month, or next Spring. Who knows?!? I do believe the lack of oil in the CAC eventually contributes to reducing oily soot which should lead to longer EGR life. However, adding a Provent won't do a bit of good if your oil is coming through your turbo seals. The quantity of waste oil I collected from the Provent is a drop in the bucket compared to what I've seen from turbo seal leakage.
