Nope, not interested in the new KK.No more manual shifted transfer case, all electronic shifted now, that was a big selling point for buying my KJ,IT STILL HAS A T-CASE SHIFTER!To much gizmo's to go wrong like the new Grands,my 2 cents.Oh by the way I don't really mind the body styling just to many gizmos to go wrong.

Guys, remember that we are a community for Liberty owners. Not too many people here have seen more than an initial press release. Let's not dig ourselves a hole and start beating the poor thing to death before it's had a chance to prove itself.

Lets not be like a lot of other Jeep communities out there and hate on everything that isn't what WE currently have/enjoy.

You are gonna see many 2008 owners show up here in the next year - lets welcome them, not drive them elsewhere.

My $.02

Did they change the Command-Trac? It's still a shifter.
The pictures show the SELEC-Trac II.

In both the specs for both t-cases it says "electronic shifted".

I will wait until I go to the New York Auto Show and see it for myself to decide. But so far I do like it .

I don't mind the new body style as much as I used to, either. And I will definitely welcome KK owners to the forum, which I guess we'll have to refer to as L.O.S.T. KJ/KK - Liberty Owners Special Team, if we want the 08+ owners to feel integrated.

I don't think the body is too bad, gets back to the Cherokee bit....but I think the drivetrain choice stinks...a VM 2.8 CRD with particulate filter and a 6-speed would do me just fine. I'd get over the front grill/lights... ;)

Cheers,
Duey

So is the introduction of the KK going to help or hurt the value of the current KJ? Or do you think it wont matter?

Not that I really care to much my KJ wont be going anywhere anytime soon! Just curious...

In all the interior pitures, I didn't see a manual t-case shift lever, tell me I just didn't see it, please tell me it's still there somewhere.

After seeing pictures of it, I'm really starting to like what I see. I don't like the sliding roof deal...that is something I dont like as well as not having a manual t-case shifter (hoping that pops up in there).

I can see a nice 4" lift, MTRs, and a roof rack w/ the spare mounted on top... 8)

I LOVE IT!

pros:
It's square like the old cherokee
It has clear turn signal lamps up front (stupid amber is so ugly)
Window controls are on the DOORS where they BELONG!
No more stupid door handles!
Dashboard storage space
LOVE the canvas roof!
115V inverter! yes!
ACTUAL fold-flat rear seats
folding FRONT seat! good idea
"Trunk" box under floor in back for permanent storage. Awesome!
rain-sensing wipers - bling bling
lots of traction control doo-dads, hill assist, etc
rear end has more of a tailgate area to sit on
electric-shifted transfer case - everyone complains about the clunk of dropping in/out of 4low and having to wait for it and such - maybe electric 4wd is the fix? A lot of other trucks have electric transfer cases and they work fine, so this could be a good change

cons:
no tire in the back :-(
antenna on back of roof is a little weird - could get in the way of things on the roof

Things I would change:
I'd make the rear tailgate fold down like a pickup truck.

Yeah, I agree completely.

I like the looks of it. I think that the interior upgrades are fantastic. I like the MYGIG and the memory seats. I like the fact that the spare won't get in the way of the trailer hitch. But w/o a CRD option... its a no-go for me.

Prolly better that way.

I sorta like it,but I liked the Nitro too  The only thing Im actually jealous of is the fold flat seats though, the rest is just foo foo stuff that I dont really need. Plus I like my tire on the back.

I will add this though.

Cant wait to see them on the trails! I guess I've got to get there myself first though

I think the real think looks much better than I expected based on the spy photos and it doesn't look like a Nitro with a Jeep grill either. I don't mind it at all although I would like to see the spare on the back and a CRD version.
