Depends on the size of the v-8 I would think.

Put some forged pistons along with some cams, intake, throttle body, shift kit, super charger, then call it a day.

Since the KJ came with an inline 4 and then a BIG inline 4 diesel...fore to aft there is room. Just like any engine swap, it will take some serious work.

I was thinking a smaller V-8 from before all the computer stuff. Build it up internally and have the stick shift. Or, put 2 4's on it sticking out of the hood!

The 4.7 will fit with very little modding,if you have the 45RFE tranny,be prepared to spend big $$$$ if you have the 42RLE(need new PCM,TCM,and the wiring harness and those are big$$$$$).As for the HEMI,wishful thinking, the 5.7(or even the 6.1)HEMI is physically to big for our engine bays, alot of cutting, need to move the firewall back at least 4-5",bye-bye inner fenders, and you still need a 45RFE or stronger tranny. It then would be useless offroad,it would taco the first time flexed since you had to remove alot of the unibody to make it fit.

I will be doing the 4.7L V-8 swap after the SFA(about a year or two),waiting for the '08+ Grand 4.7's,somewhere like 340HP+,just going to keep it stock besides adding headers and a intake system,no need for more HP.
