someone other than FB1 should send RK a request to defend themselves here at KJ. Heather makes it sound as if you put this lift on in your back yard. FB1 you had a shop install it the first time correct? They should also produce some customers that have put this on their kj and wheel it.

i think you should post the emails of the people at RK so we can take a stab at them.

also, you should report the first install shop to the better business bureau or whoever you have and consider suing, in small claims court, the first shop and RK for the max that the court will allow (like $3500 or something).

i was so pissed after reading that email from heather. i can't believe someone would be that unprofessional. i run a store and if i treated my customers like that i'd be out of business. for what it's worth i'll never buy anything RK, ever!

Ok, time to stop posting their emails and get a lawyer. The less you tell the rest of the world about this, the better chance you have of making a case against them. However, if you don't want to go that route and feel that showing their incompetance will help the rest of us make better purchasing decisions, post/bash away.

It's sick that RK would even let that post go out the door; I'm certain Heather will be looking for work in a few weeks.

I'm sure that Heather's e-mail contained just what she was told to put in it. I seriously doubt it was Heather's decisions that led this fiasco to where it is now. It is possible that Heather may be looking for work in a few weeks, but I suspect not.

RockKrawler has had a reputation for poorly designed lifts on other vehicles, and it does not look like that has changed, in my opinion.

Yeah, PM me the email address of Heather and I'd be happy to write an email on your behalf. This is bad business on so many levels. You should contact the BBB from RKs home town and include a copy of Heather's email. The fact that she puts you down personally ("half a brain" - geez) and says they will no longer correspond with you will seal the deal. That's horrible.

I got the same kind of cr@p from Skyjacker when I installed their lift and my CVs got screwed. It couldn't possibly be their fault. The BBB went to bat for me and I got a full refund. Definitely pursue that route or small claims, whatever...it doesn't cost you anything but your time.

Not defending RK at all, but shouldn't the company that installed the system be just as much at fault? I may have missed something in earlier posts. Did the company that installed it, were they a seller and installer of RK products or did you buy the product from RK and asked a company to install it for you? If they sell and install RK products normally, then they are more at fault than RK.

No as mentioned before the first bad install didnt affect any part of the suspension, the bottom line is with my arb bar and winch the front part of my kj ,the suspension was designed badly because it holds the knuckle on the top of , wich is the weakest part of the knuckle, causing it to bend (I bent 4 in total) on medium to light offroading any way the suspension is coming off and i will adapt a solid front axle (Dana 44) this will take me about two more months I will let you know the results and i really appreciate everyones help. And really if someone else bought this RK susp and has the same problems offroading let me know, Im storing all the evidence for maybe a future yoe never know.
Thanks to everyone.
If someone has tips for the solid front axle let me know.

Tip #1 Seek reembursment for the parts you have already bought and use $$ to fab up your solid axle swap......

I was looking through a 4x4 mag today and I saw a RK ad....thought of you and your troubles. I sure hope others find out about this lift the easy way (from your hardship) rather than the way you did.

I'm sure sorry you've had so much trouble with this lift and Im thankful that you shared it w/ our KJ community.

Good luck with the solid Axle....If you can wait I've heard there is a very reputable company working on one as we speak.

just drop in a HPD30 from an XJ.. and you are good to go..

Dana 44 will be a major pain in the ARSE, because you will ned to add you own brackets

Unless you get one from a Rubicon, which is only a Low Pinion D44 and not any stronger than a HP D30 when used in front applications.

Find a NON-vacuum disconnect D30 from an XJ, its the right width, has a ton of aftermarket support, brackets cast into the housing and easy swap..

Plenty of axle for up to a 35" tire, when built with some alloy shafts and a locker,

I am not bashing RK but sounds to me they are hopeing you will just go away! Will they give you info on who the others that had bought this kit from them? I know one person you can contact that bought it and was waiting for it to come in. I know the shop owner and the guy that is having it put on by him is a old freind from school. I will email you his name shop name and all that stuff for you to contact so RK cant beat you to the punch, let me know

i know it is a bit off topic, but the # of splines and size of the shafts alone make the 44 (high or low pinion) stronger than a d30, no matter what it is out of (stock for stock). the brackets are available no mattter which way you go (d44 or d30). with a rubi 44 front you even get the locker (although wiring may be a pia)

Well I am Glad I could help you out fireblad1 and find another person that says this RK is worthless has the instructions its printed on!

Just to let you know this shop that had installed the same lift He has been in to Fab, building, and installing 4x4 Been in this buisness for over 20 years and was one of the first Monster Truck builder and driver ( when the were still modified trucks before becoming tubes with fiber glass) and that truck still compet's in the Monster trucks! Words "same thing happened to us the lift is a picece of junk also a lot of problems" And this was installed on a new CRD Libby (heavy motor I guess thats what they would say)

Well I personaly know this shop owner and I am now for sure going to agree with Firblad1 and going to tell every 4x4 guy I know about this and that Letter from them and I am going to BASH RK along with showing every 4x4 forum about this.
