got some new tires after having slid around several corners and intersections with the mtr's in some fresh snow and ice....

Went with the bfg commercial ta traction, and I have to say I am extremely impressed (245/75r16). Today it snowed about a foot and I had no problems at all in the deep snow or where it had been turned into slush whatsoever, I even drove down a street swerving back and forth to see if i could swing the end around but it would not slide (about 8 inches of fresh snow on top of asphalt). The tread is the same depth as the mtr, and has a ton of siping and way smaller blocks, and is also much softer. The mtr tended to float a LOT on snow, and ice was absolutely horrible. They did fine in the deep stuff but compared to what I just put on there is no comparison at all. oh and they're ready for studs, severe weather rated

I'm running them at 32 psi (inside door panel says ~33). They are noticeably quieter than the mtr (I like noisy tires, but if it's a quiet ride why complain). It's funny how unheard of this tire is, I highly recommend it if you dont mind running a 10 ply tire (load range E i think). Ill throw up some pics tomorrow morning... we're finally getting snow here in the CO rockies, some places up to 5 feet or more (we've gotten about a foot or so here and its still snowing as a write this)

Again, if you drive in similar conditions, HIGHLY HIGHLY recommended.
