So I noticed that with my lights on.......only the top red portion of the tail lights are on, and they get brighter when I hit the breaks. Is there supposed to be a bulb in the bottom part (below the turn signal) that is supposed to be lit as well? Or is the top the only part that lights up red for the tail lights?

tnx

In the KJ, the bottom part is simply a reflector which is illuminated by cars behind you.

Whats the point of them? If you already have your tail lights on that is?

Rear Fogs would be a nice touch (better rear visibility when backing up) but they are not on the US Spec KJ's or KK's.

Minidevil they can be seen from further away during thick fog, and hopefully stop you getting rear ended.

European "fogs" in the back are bright red lights that are constantly on from what I have seen, please correct me if I am wrong.

They can be seen further away definately, but I have seen a couple vehicles with bright red fogs in the back, in their factory tail light assemblies, and you cannot distinguish if the person is braking, has a tail light malfunction, if their brake light bar doesnt work, etc.. It kind of threw me off a few times.

I am not sure how bad the fog is that some people encounter, and I don't want any disrespect perceived, but I just believe that they are unncessary because if you cannot see a regular tail light illuminated until you are smack on it, you simply don't belong driving on the road/highway in conditions like that. Honestly, in fog THAT BAD, how much is a little brighter light going to go?
