245/70-16 PICS without any lift....

I am looking to get some new tires (FOR MY 2007 LIBERTY SPORT 4x4)...and my wallet is a little flat. So I found some Re-Tread tires to get me through the winter....they are 245/70-16's and have the exact tread as the BFGoodrich AllTerrain KO's... They also have a 25,000 mile wear out warranty. If anything happens to them down to 1/2 tread....FREE REPLACEMENT....after 1/2 tread you get a prorated ammount to replace it.

Someone please let me know if they will deffinetly fit...or should I go with the 235/70-16's. (I've read a lot of posts...but no one really mentions having a 2007...and not sure how much difference there are in the many years that the Liberty's been around.)

I would like to see some pics of 245's without any lift just to see what they may look like....for that matter, show me some 235's also...so I can compare.

By the way...the 245's are only $52.95 a tire (mounted and balanced)...so they are cheap and should get me to spring when I can afford some better tires. Christmas really thinned me out

No real good pics before I lifted but I ran with 245 70X16s with no problems on an 04 and fenders are basically the same so you will have no problems. Where are you getting the retreads from? Reason Im asking is my cousin owns a retread shop in Southeastern Ohio and sells down into WV

no rub here at all with Nokian Vatiiva ATs...245/70/r16s. Not even a hint of rub at full lock. good to go. any larger and the rubs begins. 29.6" tires. the stealer told me KJs are safe to go up to an inch higher than stock without a hint of rubbing. that said, you can go just shy of a 30" tire with confidence. Of course, any sagging of older suspensions could make it close, but my 2003 is fully in the clear without a lift.

i have 235/75/r16 and they are bigger than 245/70/r16 so yea they will work

Has anyone wheeled any trails with 245/70-16's without a lift? If so...do they rub a ton (with stock rims) when flexing?

This jeep will see trail running...NOTHING MAJOR...but it will be wheeled from time to time. So if the 235 would work better with flexing....should I go with them?

Does anyone have any pics of a stock KJ w/stock rims running 235's or 245's....ANYONE? I want to see how much room is left in the fender wells...

AND ONE MORE QUESTION....SERIOUSLY....Do the 245's fill the wheel wells to much and make the tires look too big for the KJ without a lift?

2004 Sport, no lift, 245/70/16 Revo's.

The first 2 pics are when I fitst got the tires, the next 3 from when I went deep with it :twisted:

The rest are from the same outing, but ones I (or my son) took. The only thing about wheeling without a lift, is the skid plates get quite a workout. I didn't have any issues with rubbing though. Feel free to check out some of the other albums too.

Taller maybe, but not wider...about a half inch thinner. Wide can also equate to rubbing if you go wider than 245s.

Rubbing can be an issue. Some people might not want to do what I did: trim bumper & remove the plastic wheel liner. But, no rubbing! I will be getting bed liner sprayed in the wheel well soon.

FULLTIMER: Do you have a full side shot of your KJ with the 245's on it. It looks good in the fender...but I want to see a full shot to see what I think about how it sits stock with the 245's on it.

Keep in mind that the above poster has 17" wheels, Not 16".

I am not sure the size difference, But i would guess that the 17's are a bit taller causing him to remove the inner fender.

Yes, it does make a difference. I didn't notice what year you had. Actually the rubbing was in the front fender where it wraps around toward the tire. The pinch weld had to be flattened also. There is absolutely no rubbing now. In the first picture if you look real close you can see (a little) a brace I made that stiffens up the corner of the front bumper after trimming.

I'll have to make up my mind today as to which I will get. I may go with just the 235's, cause I don't want to be offroad and get my finders all jacked up because the 245's rub a lot at full flex.

I'll just wait till I lift the thing to worry about larger tires. With as well as the KJ works with stock/worn out tires (225's)....it should do great with one size larger and some good all terrain tread.

I'll post some pics and such after I get the tires on.

i have 255/65s with no trimming i can full stuff the tires inside the fenders with no rubbing. I will try and get pics monday of it sutffed, waiting for my camera to arrive, my new one broke lol
