I had them on mine, but they put added strain on the shock.

Just do yourself a favor:

-Go to a sporting goods store, and buy 4 hockey pucks
-Go to the hardware store, buy two 3" 3/8ths inch hex topped bolts with appropriately sized nuts and washers
-Make each bumpstop by gluing two hockey pucks to each other
-Let glue dry (best to let it sit for a day)
-Drill 3/8ths inch hole in the middle of each bumpstop
-Insert bolt, with washer on the same side as the top of the bolt
-Take apart your rear suspension
-Drill a 3/8ths inch hole in the middle of your spring pad on both sides (left and right)
-Insert bumptops
-Tighten nuts (NOT TOO TIGHT!)
-Put rear suspension back together

I've spent a relatively large amount of money (~60) on rear bumpstop configurations for the KJ, and this is the one I am currently using.
