Toyo A/T's or Firestone A/T's???

I'm down to deciding on getting either the Toyo or Firestone A/T's in size 235/75-16. Which one would you guys go with??? I did want BFG's, but those aren't available in that size.

FIRESTONE. i sell both at my work and 2 of my techs have the firestones and love them. better quality. tier 1 company vs tier 3 company. you do the math

I like the revos. They wear fast but they provide very good traction, even when they are low. The regular Dueler A/Ts suck, but the Revos I like a lot more.

Firestones all the way. I have them (same size) and love them. Been great in the ice/snow, too.

Plenty of info on both in the tire section..

Also, take a look at some Hercules Terra Trac AT's...they are almost identical to the Toyo Open Country ATs and they also come in 235/75/16s. They aslo come with a factory road hazzard warranty. I had them on my 2006 CRD and they did great!

I like my Toyo's, never liked Firestone, but guess that's just me. I wouldn't put Revos on my lawn tractor.

Between the two listed, I would take the Firestone Destination any day of the week. They are a fantastic all around tire for mild offroading.

Bewarned: the sidewalls can get cut by sharp or pointed rocks and they are not good in clay mud that sticks to the tread.

Other than that, a very well rounded tire.

I ran the Destination ATs in 245-70-16 before I lifted and then after for a while, did a great job, could not wear them out, out so I sold them to go bigger, they were quiet on the road, had good wet road/snow/ice traction did 500% better than the stock ones. I would run them again for everyday DD

Oh and agree with Darby have ran lots of Hercules, darn good tire for the money :wink:

I know, it's insane! They should put a tire section somewhere in here.

TBH, screw both of them. Get BFG AT's if you MUST get a Mall Terrain tires, they are it. They wear forever and they're excellent in snow and wet weather.

If you want a quiet, nice riding tire, get a street tire. if you want off road traction, get an MT in a 225/75-16

actually no spiff. people are just looking for the best bang for the buck with the economy the way it is and kumho has come a long way in the last 2 years. i work for goodyear so we push goodyear/dunlop. everything else is just for the sale.

Just curious, because I personally wasn't too impressed with the Kumho AT, and they were spiffed like CRAZY with the last company I worked for because of the insane profit margin, and thus, sold like hotcakes (go figure...tell a customer it's better than the BFG AT)

I will say the wear and snow traction are decent on them, though.

Working for a Goodyear shop would explain the Silent Armors though

you got to admit for the money its not a bad tire. Yea just got the silent armors yesterday for 120 otd (thats for all 4, not per). and yes they are new and no they are not blems, and no they are not stolen either.

I put over 20,000 on a set of 255-70 Kumhos ATs (KL78s) and still sold them for over 200 bucks ! They wore great and had them off road several times, not a mud tire but open enough to stay with everyone else. I got tired of having them as well, seems to be a bad habit get a set of tires run them for a while and sell them!
