Sorry to hear of the carnage... glad to hear it wasn't worse.

Time to pick up a spare filter. BTW... you should PM me the trip detail s and let me know what I missed.

Unfortunately, none of us were prepared for a spill of this magnitude and it was getting dark and cold. I drove up there today with bags of kitty litter (braving another blizzard) and did my best. When I got back down, I reported the location to the ranger station at Island in the Sky.

The ranger appreciated the report and they will go check out my work. I never thought my skid would actually cause damage, I deeply regret the whole incident.

i saw a 12v wet/dry vac that looked pretty compact on amazon the other day that once the green in my pocket builds will probably be put up on the list of 'throw in the cargo' items, i think that along with some kitty litter could be pretty helpful in cleanin up any accidentals

Good for you! We need more people like you on the trails……………….

Maybe the new RL skid plates will address these issues.

Not only did I have enough for me, I have enough to share. Don is now a fan. I even gave a couple to a starving Navajo guy I met before I met up with everyone.

Lessons learned:

Keep extra motor oil and filter

It's also a good idea to keep enough Permatex on hand to do your tranny & oil pans, among other uses.
