I can't find a 4x4 WK CRD anywhere around here and the 4X2 are $36,000 the same for the ML with the 3.2 CRD loaded with Nav, I would take the MB for the same money. I just can't get into the seating position of the WK.

I see lots of 4x4s on ebay in the 25k range.

Texas Direct Auto outside Houston has a 07 Limited WK 4x4 for $24K. Only 220 miles too.

No, I am not shilling for them - I just have been halfway thinking about replacing the wife's Volvo with one of these, and came across it yesterday in an Autotrader search. If I was ready to buy I'd be on my way to Houston.

Hehhhhhhhhhhhh. Thanks ya'll. (or, "you guys" instead of ya'll if you're from north of the Mason-Dixon) :D

Still, it's a beautiful whip. I'd love to see how much torque I could get out of that 3.0 CRD. . .

Atx, help me out here, when I fly to pick up my new (used) CRD Im going to install an elephant hose (screw driver for the clamp) and unplugg the MAF for the drive home. I also want to install an Amsoil EAA air filter. What tools if any will I need to get the air box open?

Thanks

Tom

I'm going to jump in front of ATX here (sorry dude). If you plan on bringing a screwdriver with you, don't. The airline will take it. No other tools are required for changing the air filter. It just has four (I think) clamps.

You'll also find that when you book a last minute cross country and have no checked luggage you automatically get SSSS'ed.

What is SSSS'ed? Well I have no idea what it stands for, but the last 4 times I have flown were last minute tickets with no checked luggage, and I got SSSS'ed.

They pull you aside, search you, and search all your stuff, swap your electronics(and when I fly I have lots of electronics).

You'll have fun with that.

Honestly I wouldn't bother with the EHM for your trip back. ORM is sufficient.

Thanks Sam. I wanted to have the engine oil changed (use an Amsoil EA oil filter) before the drive home and I didn't want the emissions crap dirtying my new oil!!!!

Eat 3 bean burritos about 30 minutes before you check in and leave them something to remeber you by ;)

Cabbage, lots and lots of cabbage.

Funny thing is, I flew like 4 times that way and everytime my bag got searched, checked all the nooks and crannies.

Well I didn't realize it for about 2 years, but I had two pocketknifes I had forgotten about in one little pocket. They had to have looked like something on the xray(though I had plenty of other cables wires batteries, etc in there too), which is why I might have gotten searched even when I was not SSSS'ed.

The first couple of times they just strait up missed them, the last couple of times I realized that they probably didn't look into that pocket too much because after you opened it there was a rubber right on the top. Guess that kinda thing makes you not want to probe any deeper.

When I fly - I do only carry on and no tools - not even my Swiss Army knife.
although if I was driving home - I'd stop and get something - I hate not have some tools.

only thing I'd really recommend is getting a spare fuel filter - even if you get a Wix - they're cheap and it'll get you home - and then you can do upgrades

(you can search Wix's website for stores in the area you're buying your Liberty - the TSA folks would be very curious if you tried to take one through security)

Sounds like something I would do to make my day a little more interesting.
