ONe thing the dealer mentioned about the warranty was that it was void if you drove more than 10,000 miles (could have been 12,000 or 15,000, I don't remember the exact number) a year on pavement.

That's ludicrous, and sounds like a sales geek trying to get a laugh at your expense. Besides, how the hell would they knpw where your miles were logged?

Here is the best part.... No failures would be covered under warranty even when they were stock!!!! Dealers all said the Rubicon PKG was a looks and status PKG only... it was not built to be used as advertised!!!!

This is where I have to continue to take exception. They cannot, by law, deny you a warranty repair on a stock part/feature. That is just not legal. If a dealer tries to pull this garbage on you, cite the Magnuson-Moss Warranty Act and threaten to take them to court. Now if you are running 35s with a 2" body lift and a 3" suspension lift, OK, maybe your axle warranty should be out the window. But if your locker electronics or your radiator blow out when you have these mods, by law, that is covered. End of story.

What makes this kind of thing even more ridiculous in my mind, is that DC reimburses the service department of the deale rfor all warranty repairs. Why any sane businessman would refuse guaranteed money is beyond me.

BTW, I just bought a used rubi, and they keep thier value like you wouldn't beleive. The only caveat is you have to keep em preety close to stock. That's fine with me as this is my wife's daily driver. I am actually considering pulling of the MTRs and putting on A/T tires - and then putting the MTRs on a set of steelies both rigs can share depending upon which I take offroad when I go. Gas mileage is horrendous with those mudders.

You nailed it right there... That is what I have always wondered even when I was working for Ford. Here is the reason... Instead of getting paid $50-$60 + per labor hr (remember based on what the book says not what the technician actually takes) DC pays them less only about 2/3rds the amount. One tech also told me that DC only pays them for the actual time the Tech takes instead of the book time.

So bottom line, they want more money by trying to make you pay. Also they will want top dollar for the parts too!
