I called the dealership to find out about a engine skid and they told me I needed two brakets also since mine did not come with factory skids? I've never heard of such. 2005 Rocky Mountain Edition. Can anyone confirm about the brackets

TIA

I have an 04 that did not have factory skids and I was OK. However, it's the ones up front (near the sway bar) that you'll need to worry about the most. If you have those you're in great shape. The ones for the back part of the skid are on the front cross rail. If you don't have those you can drill through the cross rail and use a 3" bolt. Make sure you use strong bolts - I want to say you need grade 8 or better. Good luck

not sure what "brackets" they're talking about

perhaps what they meant was the nut-zerts which are like a self tapping sort of thread insert, the threads are usually whats not there - never heard of missing "brackets"

I have an extra engine skid plate if you want to buy a used on. Not sure what year it is from but I am on the understanding that with a drill and some bolts you can make anything fit!
