I am about to replace all the tires on my 2006 stock Jeep Liberty Renegade. After reviewing the tire sizes on the chart hosted here and on the jeep liberty wikibooks page I think I have it narrowed down to 245/70/16 Destination A/Ts from Firestone but was also looking at the same size tires from Pep Boys from an in house brand Definity Dakota A/T in the same size. I was wondering if anyone had any experience with these tires and which one would work better for me. I am mostly on road driving to work and around Dallas but I do like to take off through some mud occasionally and go off road to go fishing/camping a lot. Also, I was a bit confused on the tire size and would like to make sure the size is right. According to the chart here, 245/70/16 will fit a Liberty with no lift without rubbing. However, the wikibooks article said this would rub but it would be minor. Which is correct in your experience? I also have the stock Jeep Renegade wheels. Thanks in advance.

245-70-16s will fit an unlifted KJ with no real problems. They may rub when backing up fully cut to the right ( or did on mine) not bad just enough that you could hear it. Solution-just don't turn that tight
I ran the Destination ATs for 25000 I think it was and they did great still had over half tread, nice ride, quiet, great in snow

Thanks. I am pretty sure the destination A/Ts in the size I mentioned are what I am going to go for.

I am running the 245 70 16 Destination At's with no rubbing at all. I have an 07, 3/8" top plates and 3/8" clevis rings. I love the tires look and performance is awesome!

I have no rubbing issues at all, even at full lock with GY Silent Armors.

Got my tires. They fit perfectly and the jeep feels so much better to drive. It's noticeably higher then it was as well. I'm sitting slightly above an Xterra at the roof line now and the ground clearance between my engine skid and the ground has improved noticeably. Maybe as much as 2 inches. I also tried going backwards and cutting the wheel hard right and did not see any rubbing. The ground is too saturated to go anywhere right now but hopefully next weekend I will try them out a bit. Thanks for all the input.
