Other than the 2005-2006 Renegade and the 2005 Rocky mountain Edition are there any other KJs with flat hoods? The reason I ask is that a co-worker has this 2007 Liberty with a flat hood. From behind I thought it was just a Limited (it has no trim-level badges at all) until I saw the hood

I've seen this as well on 2007's, while Jeep made a "latitude" edition in 07 it did not have the flat hood.

Nearest I can figure, and this is because Jeep has done this before, they just made some with the flat hood to burn off inventory. They had all these flat hoods leftover from renegade's that never got built so they went, well stinky poo, throw em on, we don't need to keep thousands of hoods in inventory.

This is not the first time Jeep has done this either, in fact Jeep in kinda known for doing this, Jeep did it in 1996 With the Cherokee "Classic", they did it in 2000 with the Cherokee "Freedom:

They did it in 2001 with the Cherokee "60th AE", they did it in 2004 with the Grand Cherokee "Freedom", and they also did it in 2007 with the KJ Latitude.

Also, whenever I get around to repainting my KJ I'm gonna go with the flat hood, I hate the bubble eyed look of mine.

In my case its just more of a "I'm in no hurry to paint this damm thing because it still needs bodywork to look perfect and be worth painting."

My hood, doors, fender etc are all still dented from when we repaired the rollover, it doesn't look pretty, but it adds character.

Also, thats too bad about the moobs, I'm still sporting mine.

Next time you run into him/her ask to take a look at the door tag, I bet you will see its a very late production vehicle, you can read the MDH to see when it was produced, write it down and post it in this thread so we can see when that jeep was made:

This is from a 2000 Cherokee, but the idea is the same.
