As stated in a previous post I think a CRD to V6 swap with a donar V-6 is the direction I am headed. Just trying to gather the data first. Is the engine cradle bolt up, and does the V-6 cradle bolt up in the same spot the CRD cradle does. I think if that is the case then a full swap will not be that difficult.

Yes but it's not a simple as you think.Since you must use the same year of gas KJ as a donor that also means your going to loose the 545RFE trans and must go with the 42RLE trans, you'll need to swap the trans/t-case crossmember also, front and rear driveshafts, and the complete wiring harness from the gas KJ to your CRD not to mention dropping the tank and cleaning it very well and installing the pump and new fuel lines and EVAP lines.

Not simple, just within my abilities and budget. Besides, then I will have the CRD leftovers to sell or maybe put in my Wrangler one day. I can't stand the Automatic in my 4 cylinder Wrangler, and would love to put the 8.25 with disc brakes under it too. Of course that is a way different subject.

Can it be done? Yes but does not make much sense since you'd have to buy a complete and running gas KJ to do the swap.Might as well just scrap the whole CRD and drive the donor KJ then no labor involved.

Dash is different and the BCM to drive the dash is different also. Radiator, a/c hoses and condenser are different...

Since your going total custom, go with a V8 :)

Doesn't make sense to do all the work to end up with another jeep like it came from the factory...
