I just bought my 08 KK a few wks ago, and today I noticed my dome light wouldn't go out. The message on the dash says gate. My key fab won't open the rear window, neither will the handle below the window. Can someone please help. Thanks

Sorry I didn't post sooner, I just saw this tonight. You my friend have a defective gate latch. Odds are that your alarm rang also. Most likely, it was caused by a flipper glass leak. There is a TSB for this but you'll have to take it to the dealer to have it repaired. There is only one fix that I'm aware of and it involves a new seal along with an additional piece that goes along the top of the glass. You'll also need a new gate latch as water has leaked into it causing a short.
Or, none of this is correct and you simply have a defective gate latch.

FYI There is also a TSB for the latch wiring. Tsb #TSB 08-022-07 Intermittent Illumination of the Courtesy Lamps and Liftgate Ajar Indicator with Chime (2008 Liberty). Which involved switching the wires on the liftgate ajar switch connector.
