Just had this happen after heavy rain/significant OR activity this past week; I was driving on the highway and hit a bump and the ABS and brake warning lights lit up. I am thinking this is likely a wiring issue. Since mine is an 05, start at the rear diff and replace the wiring to POC at the front passenger seat? Anybody know the page from the FSM that relates to this, off hand?

You might try section 8W-35 of the 05 FSM for wiring

Many thanks, PapaIndigo! Will do and will report once I have a chance to look at it.

I pulled off the front wheels, and all the wires appear. Looks like the front sensors are a lot harder to get to than the rears - you have to pull off the rotor. I ordered an ABS code reader; $60 from Amazon.com. Hopefully that will tell me something.

Update: I bought an Actron tool that was supposed to read all domestic vehicles, but it did not. I called the company, and they confirmed it would not read the JEEP codes. But they told me another model they sold, the OTC 9450, that would read it. I bought that one and it did, with a little work.

Says: C102A L/R wheel speed comparative performance
C1027 L/R wheel speed sensor erratic performance
U002 Controller area network bus off performance
C2100 Battery voltage low

I will replace the left rear wheel sensor and see what happens. That controller network doesn't sound very good, but hopefully that is just coming from the wheel sensor. I don't know where the battery voltage signal is coming from.

Anyway, now I have the code reader. If anybody in the NE Connecticut area needs to check their codes, just let me know.

Replaced the left rear wheel sensor and it seems to be working okay. Thanks for all the advice.

If anyone in the area needs the tool to read their ABS codes, just let me know.
