I've got to follow this thread to see where it goes. I'm still wondering what I should do about bump stops too. I'm running a JBA 4 inch lift with 29 inch tires (31s to be installed before winter), and no bump stops currently on my KK. The 4x4 shop that installed the lift told me I didn't need them, and that the JBA bumpstops that came with the kit wouldn't work. So, I am wondering whether I can keep it like it is, add a couple of hockey pucks per side, or just use the JBA bump stops. :juggle:

Why wouldn't they work? That doesn't make sense unless they didn't want to drill the spring perch. :dizzy:

Not sure. They told me they were the wrong kind.

are they the red urethane ones? If so then they're the right ones. They go on the bottom, opposite the stock ones, bolted to the spring perch. You'll have to cut them to the right length.

Yes, they are the red ones. What would be the right length for a 4 inch lift, do you think?

Just put em on, they're the right length. They told me when I got mine that they were for the 4" lift but I could cut them to fit mine.

Thanks, Ted. I should have gone with my gut and asked the shop to install them anyway. Anyhow, now I will have a chance to work on my own suspension. Not a bad thing.

Glad to help. You may want to doublecheck the length of those things though. A little advice, make sure you slip a socket inside the bumpstop for size  :D
I used a large sheet metal screw and a washer to fasten them to the spring perch. I used the center head from my combination square set to find the center of the spring perch and drilled a pilot hole.

I was worried about fitting a socket inside so I went with socket button head bolts (allen wrench drive) and it worked really well
