That's the thing. I get about a quarter inch of down travel and then the tires lift up

So the clunking noise is being narrowed down. It's not the upper control arms hitting the pockets. When the front end is lifted up there is still a nice little gap between the pockets and UCA's (which is good, I really didn't feel like grinding those down).

So now the next theory is that the shocks are topping out

Sounds like you have them cranked too high if they are indeed topping out

In order for them to not clunk I wouldn't be getting 4" of lift in front. I would get around 2

Drop it back down to about 3-3.25 or so and see how it does
I think you're trying to put ten lbs of potatoes in a 5 lb sack

Right now they're sitting at 2 3/4" on the threads. Right about 22.5" in the front. I lowered them to 1 3/4" on the threads and that's when the clunking will stop.

You can only stretch the front suspension so far until there won't be any flex at all

So aren't KKs stock at about 18 inches in front?
So you have it at 4.5 inches of lift
you're either going to have to run lower or start swapping in even more parts

I never knew what stock KK's were. Guess I'll just sit a little lower in front. Still have one more trick up the sleeve though.

Just FYI, I'm sitting at 21.5 inches up front with my JBA adjust a struts. That's where you are when your clunking stops. This is also the height Diggerfreek advised I should set, because in his experience being higher ate through his CVs faster than he liked. At that height there is a little forward rake. You could try going for 22 inches (4 inches over stock) to even it out and see how it sounds.

So you sit lower in front then?

Yes, currently I think I'm at 21.5 in the front and 22 in the rear. It may be slightly different since the lift may have settled in a bit since I measured.

I think I might just do that then. I'm honestly pretty sick of adjusting these things. And just want to enjoy it without a clunking noise.

I think it will work itself out of you set it at about 21.5. Mine took a few weeks for the noises to subside, but now that it's settled in its as quiet as stock. I did have to re torque my sway bar links a couple of weeks ago because they had become loose, but now no more rattling noises. If you do try going to 22, let me know how it works out. I've been thinking about cranking it up to 22 to eliminate the rake, but I haven't yet because I don't really want to pay for another alignment until I get my next set of tires this fall. If you can run it at 22 with no issues, I may do that.

Ya I'll definitely let you know. I think for this weekend I'm just gonna set it to 21.5 and get it aligned (this will be my third alignment in the last month) hate to admit that but it happens when you're playing around with stuff.
