Hi all,
quick question. I am working on my 4x4 swap and plan on locking the front end while I have the D30a axle on the workbench. I want to add a detroit trutrac, however, as far as I know, the gears must be re set up after installing the trutrac. Is this true? This leads me to want to install an aussie in the front, which I know will have some negative side effects, but I have a powertrax in the rear and don't mind it. It seems that those who install an aussie in a regular solid D30 axle pull the carrier to install the aussie locker but then do NOT re set up the gears after the install. They just slap the carrier back in and go without checking the clearances. If I install an aussie, do I need to re set up the gears, or just slap in and go? Thanks a bunch!

truetrac won't work but just a detriot locker will, and you have to change the carrier so the gears will have to be reset.

The DTT will work for either the D30A or the 8.25,the full Detriot Locker will only work for the 8.25 and not a good idea for the D30A.
