Can anyone identify what the clips that have a "christmas tree" hole insert on one side and a slot for a zip-tie on the other are called? Also, getting replacements for the various retainer clips for the A/C lines, coolant hoses, etc. would be really nice. The jeep is getting to the point where it's loosing these slowly due to the plastic aging. I'm hoping there's an aftermarket source for them somewhere if I can just figure out what the darned things are called...

Dan

Cannot tell you what whatever you are looking for is called but I can tell you that Dorman is often a good source for things like that.

Search for "Push Mount Cable Tie" or "Fir Tree Cable Mount, bunches of them out there on eBay, Amazon, and Lowes. O'Reilly's also list some. :google:

This site has a huge selection of the Fir Tree type: http://www.electricalhub.com/fir-tree-mount-cable-ties :JEEPIN:

Great tip - thanks!

Bookmarked for a future project like you're thinking about, Dan. The electrical hardware is getting a little "crunchy" and will need replacing soon.

Hellerman-tyton makes a bunch of clips like that and there is a section on their site where they will send you free samples of a few of them. Just tell them you are looking at designing some aftermarket accessories or something like that. All you need is the hole size to determine which clips you need. If your looking for the gray ones that are offset a bit like the one holding the harness to the TIPM bracket, let me know and I can send you a few.

To avoid pulling out one of the still-working fir trees and locating my micrometer, does anyone know what hole diameter size(s) are used in the engine bay? Hoping they're all a common hole diameter. 1/4" seems to be the most common on various online marketplaces.
