Just got my ARB diff cover installed. If I did it again I'd take the sway bar and maybe track bar off for more room. Now I smell like gear oil... :furious:

Image

Also started working on a flag/whip mount for the dunes. It's just two pieces of 3/4" square tube welded in a T that will mount to the torx PS cooler screws. I am going to tap the leg of the T with a 1/8" NPT and throw a quick connect on there to mount the pole to.

This is something I've been researching for a very long time. While tinkering around with my friend's Subaru, we bounced a few ideas off each other and came up with this.
The material you see is a automotive floor mat cut to the size I wanted. I took some measurements, made holes, and used 2 zip ties on each side utilizing the existing holes for the factory air dam. :grim:

Gageraid, you might as well just buy a ground effects kit and figure out a quick disconnect for it. :ROTFL: :ROTFL: :goink:

The joke is on you if this works!
Mocked up spats for the rear today. Not sure if I'll install them or not. I want to see the results from the front ones first.

Engine swap progress today. Kudos to http://www.bobwarksliberty.com in Lower Merion, PA for doing a great job.

Here's where we stand currently:

Out with the old:

And in with the new (coming up next):

Intake manifold, valve covers, and oil pan to be swapped over, but it comes with an all-new water pump and precision-machined internals.

Next time jack up the rear end, the track bar moves up giving you more space to work with.

The winters sure haven't been kind to your Jeep! Por15 time?

Did you already have your plastic bumper off waiting for the Fedex truck  ?
The second time it goes on after it's been installed once is a lot easier. I know your just mocking up and test fitting, but you can adjust the turn signal mounts a bit to get them lined up better.. Looks good though have a fun camping trip!!!

Thanks!

Are you talking about the 2 screws that hold the PS cooler to the plastic support seen through the bumper opening? I would caution against that since any impact or force on those screws could pull those screws out or break the plastic mounting points and would leave PS cooler unsecured. How about a piece of flat plate steel screwed into the metal cross member at top of the bumper opening, the same place the factory tow hooks mount to?

Added the rear auto locker (LOKKA) today. Not much to see.

Anyways. After driving it home and testing it in a parking lot with tight turns forward and reverse, I must say it is a lot quieter than I thought it'd be Though people in parking lots may look at me a little funny now. There is a ratcheting sound around the corners, and it has an occasional tendency to pull straight (hard to explain) while driving on the highway. I was already practicing the street driving techniques before I installed it so it didn't take much getting used to. Now to see how it handle in the rain and on the trail (this weekend). I am now officially a 3WD Jeep. In your face Jeep Wrangler Moab, FJ Cruser, and H2/3's with your fancy rear locker. Not up to the Rubicons yet though. One day, one day.

I had it jacked up halfway, but ever since the lift, I haven't been able to easily get to full axle droop with my floor jack. Guess I should get a bigger one. I am planning on POR15ing the track bar, trans crossmember, and sliders when I get them from JCR. Also my LCAs and axles if there is enough in the can.

KK is still in the shop. It is raining cats & dogs here today and the forecast calls for 3-5 inches of rain in the Philly area! So glad I have a friend's spare '96 Tacoma to get around in.

I do not have any personal experience with the RRO control arms, but have been on this board long enough to know that some folks have had issues with fitment and build quality. This is not always the case for everybody, but it seems like a gamble to go with RRO when Al's A Arms always get such good reviews. I run Al's upper control arms with my lift and they work great. http://jeepinbyal.com/jeep-liberty-2008-2012-kk/jeep-liberty-kk-upper-a-arms.html
