Ever since I did my head studs I have had a minor leak from my #4 injector line that runs from the fuel rail and an even more minor leak from #1. They are tight, I checked them, but still have the leak. Is there any suggestions on how to seal these lines?

Performance is not affected, but I have diesel pooling on the valve cover and can smell it when I stop at a light with the heat on.

Brake the nuts loose at both ends and retighten.

Remove the connecting pipe and clean up the surfaces with green scrubby.

Is it on the injector side or the fuel rail side?

I believe the injector side. It's not enough of a leak to see a drip but it is pooling around the 1 & 4 injector between the cams after 1000 miles or so.

Green scrubby? Like a 3m brillo pad?

I've seen several of these, and they usually quit if you just tighten them a little more, but Sam's way is the right way to do it. A lot of the time the line fitting will be tight to the injector adapter, but the adapter itself is loose. So, if it's leaking right at the injector, You need to use two wrenches to bust the line loose from the adapter, and then tighten the adapter first (10-12mm), then the line.

Certainly could be the lines but have you considered a leak around the copper washers at the injector base? Easy check - grab a dry paper towel; open hood; remove plastic engine cover; crank up in park and let the engine idle; use paper towel to check for leaks at the line connections; if they are leaking the "wet" on the paper towel will be obvious instantly.

If you see it around the injector area it could be a leaky copper crush washer where the combustion mixture blows back past the seal. Since the injector has been out if you got an improper seal there it could also leak in that area.
