Well I finally finished it off with the insurance today and I know several of you wanted updates. Well they did a couple of things I didn't expect but I will take it. First they said they would not offer a buy back on the CRD and I am not sure why. Next we settled on a final figure of $25,350.67, I think that's a pretty fair and they gave me full value for all my aftermarket parts. I also gotta keep the winch, sliders and skids. Who knows what I'll use the skids for so the may find there way to the KJ raffle next year at Moab. I am sure I can find a home for the winch and sliders.

Who is your insurance carrier? That pay out is dang nice and amazing they covered aftermarket parts. You must have quite the nice policy.
Congrats that nobody got hurt and your insurance co. took care of you.

Insurance companies want a vehicle they deemed "totalled to be "retitled" as a "reconstruct/recondition title" to get rid of any liability problems. You did get an awesome settlement...I mean you can really build up the new vehcile...

I think they are afraid you will part it out on ebay and make a ton of money on it and get their payout-- insurance scam sort of a thing-- so they blanket ban new car buy backs. If it is a old hunk of junk they don't care and will let you buy it back. My friend was able to buy back his old beater after it was totalled and the lady said they do it for old cars that are not worth much, but not for new vehicles.

Sorry i have not answered you question Jon, I just got back from a family vacation to Disneyland. I also found to to do some wheelin in Sequioa National Monument.

The insurance carrier was Allstate. They have always treated me great. I know I pay more but they take care of me.
