I'm on travel this week in Maine. Since we are going to get 12-18" I asked for a 4wd and got a KJ! Wow, I forgot how nice the KJ really is. The TJ/LJ really feals like a truck in comparison (and I can hear the radio when I drive :) ). Almost makes me forget all the problems I had with the ESP in mine and want another....

Ya. And it also really bugs me when someone refers to their "Cherokee" and then it turns out they are talking about a ZJ, WJ, or WK.

The really amazing thing is that he feels he has had more problems with his KJ then he ever had with his Grand Cherokee what ever modle it is. Those jeeps are JUNK. never seen one that wasn't riddled with problems. Not like the XJ that was one of the most dependable vehicles on the road, and still is (thats why they built it for darned near 20 years. Till the feds made them give up the 4.0L)

Woodys,
Trust me he (Moose) had a lot of problems with the electronics in the KJ, almost got him killed a couple of times, stupid computer crap! Dealer couldnt get it straightened out . As far a Grands I know of a ton of them with over 200,000 miles and still no problems, my Boss just got rid of his with 278,000 on it and he never put money into it!..........
but the he went and bought a Prius

Tom

No, the "feds" didnt make them give up the 4L(as it was used in the WJ untill 04 and the TJ untill 06). The death knell of the XJ was stricter safety standards, and its planned obsolescence.

(yes it sold for many years, but in its last revision it only sold for 5 years, just like the ZJ, WK, and KJ.)

At Jeeps current rate of consumption the WK will see its last year of production in 2010. That means the WK replacement better start hitting road tests soon.

OK, when I sold the XJ, I messed up the profile. The 92 XJ has been sold; the wife has a 98 ZJ with the 5.9L.

As for the NE crowd, sorry guys. I flew up hear late Sunday night, drove to Orono in the snow Monday morning, and will be working my butt off until Friday afternoon when I drive back to Portland and fly home. I guess if someone lives in Orono-Bangor area I couldget together and have coffee though....

The ZJ, Wj, or the WK are not Junk. We personally own a ZJ, WK, XJ, and KJ, all have been excellent Jeeps with no major problems. Mileage ranges from 11k-164k.
