I am so (F-BOMB) sick and tired of this (S-BOMB). This is the 3rd CV shaft in 1 year. At least this time it is the drivers side. I just had the passangers side replaced 1 month ago. Is any one else having this (F-BOMB) problem? I had ENOUGH! |

NICE LIST! I am not going to dump all that into this KJ. If I was single and living at home again, I would buy that stuff tonight. (OH HOW I MISS THE GOOD OL DAYS!) are my CV's blowing out because of my lift and tires? If so then how could 2 CV's go on the same side in less than a year, and after replacing the 2nd pass side just about a month ago, now the drivers side is going. I heard alot of clicking when I had the wheel at full lock in reverse. I knew it was another CV |

I knew it was another CV doubtful that the lift and tires are the issue if you start off with clicking then they go the problem is holes in the boots which allows mud and water to get in and the grease gets out this is where the clicking comes from best advise I can give is #1 learn to replace them your slef #2 get some with a life time warranty #3 stay out of the mud because this is when sticks and junk get them |

That's real bad mate, is this happening offroad or on the black top. I think your last one went on you while leaving your driveway. |

Pretty much. My problem is I only cross roads just to get to the other side of the trails LOL I do play in heavy mud and dense brush area often. I bet I am ripping or what ever on my boots. This one I am going to replace my self. I all ready talked to my cuz that owns a custom parts store. He gave me a price his cost of $66.00 for the WHOLE CV and SHAFT I DONT CARE IF IS A RE-MAN. IT'S CHEEPER THEN MOPAR ![]() |

I would say its more where you are wheeling than anything else like the lift, I mean I have a bunch of miles on mine lifted and no problems, but I try to stay out of the mud as much as possible anymore, too old and lazy to clean it up and you never know whats in there. You have had your share of them |

![]() When I was a young and foolish lad I played in the mud all the time! But thats not where the name came from anyways ![]() ![]() ![]() But I know how mud can get into areas that you would think was impossible but it did and doesn't take long to wear out parts. Used to tear down every Sunday night. |

I know what you mean. The last time I went wheeling a few weeks ago with Stever71 on here, I had mud get inside my tire. NOW THAT IS EVIL! Well I spoke to my cuz this morning and he told me that he is getting me the entire drivers side axel for 75.00 and this IS NOT a re-man part I guess I am going to havce to remove most of my frankenlift on the drivers side to do this. Any advice from guys who have done theirs? |

No advice from me: Just don't forget to have a case of cold drinks next to you for the work. Get some good music going in the garage and enjoy the time with the KJ. |

you shouldn't have to pull the whole lift off, just remove the clevis , of course, brakes, upper and lower ball joints, tie rod end, spindle, and the clevis, should and I say "should' be able to sneak it out from under the strut assembly, at least I would try it that way |

You might want to look into REELS CVs, heard they were stronger but I have no personal history of them. Also not sure how much lift you got out of the Frankie but if it is close to 4" maybe the shorter CVs that JBA is selling could work for you. ![]() |

Well, lucky me. I drove my Jeep all through the winter and had no problems. I parked it up at my g/f's place sometime around March. I moved it a few times and never had a problem - no noise. G/f's dad moves my jeep, and is astonished that M/T's have no traction on ice although he blamed it on the jeep itself ![]() About 2ish weeks ago, I move my jeep into the garage before I installed my lift. Lo-and-behold I get some fairly loud clicking when in 4x4 and turn the wheels to full lock on either side. The clicking happens in forward and reverse, but does not occur in 2wd - no load on the CVs. I've checked the boots because I was under there anyways and know that boot failure is a common issue. The boots look fine. No holes, no cracks and the straps are on good and tight. I'm about as happy as you can imagine ![]() N |
