2 days ago my AC began to make a smell as if an electrical componement went bad for about a minute, then the AC started to blow warm air. I'd like to fix this myself. Any thoughts?

Sounds like you fried the AC clutch, not a DIY project unless you have the removal/install tools.

first, tjkj2002, if that's a pic of your kj, man is that thing SWEET!

i was just under the hood and didn't see anything out of the ordinary however the ac clutch assembly had a really hard time moving. i would think that it should spin a bit more freely that what i experienced. also, i checked my fuses and they are all good and the ac indicator light still comes on when i press the button, so that is getting power.

i think you might be right about the clutch assembly and i'm not in the mood to soak a grand into my truck right now for ac.
