Not sure you guys saw this, I took a gander at the EGR control a few days ago and found it to be easily disabled:

FYI.

Will report back on that soon. I have to do some driving to figure out if my l/km has improved which is what they claim is their problem in the US...

Oh yeah and I am sure there will be less MAP problems with soot coming from the exhaust. Add that to an oil catch tank for the CCV and I should have done all I can do keep the MAP clean.

Haven't had the time to clean it yet, but I will see if I can find time this weekend.

Does your interior heater still work? You know, heat to your feet, heat on you windshield etc, that's vacuum controlled.

What? It is? Funny.

Yes it works brilliantly still :)

Pulled codes with key trick, only P1685 is thrown. "Invalid SKIM" - yeah, my key is wrong

I dare not claim better MPG yet, but I have a hunch about it already.

Went for a bit more driving, seems to be a good hunch. When starting from cold it starts more smoothly than with the EGR enabled.

Did the same ORM than Uffe yesterday .....
So far drove almost 100km, and no CEL lights ....no error codes ...so it looks good!
I haven't seen any difference yet regarding idling or driving (allthough as far as I can see, the EGR is only suppose to "kick in" once the engine warmed up ANYWAY).... but I'll keep a close eye on the fuel economy ..

Done mine a few days ago and ive noticed a slight increase in mpg (but need to monitor it to confirm) pulls smoother, and coasts better when foot is lifted off gas pedal, less engine braking (when i first got my crd i thought it had an exhaust brake because when you lift off the gas the engine braking was quite pronounced.)So far so good.

It lowers EGTs as well, because there is less oxygen in the burn :)

either use a self tapper screw or a ball bearing ,no cable ties needed.

I dare now say that the hunch was not enough. MPG still as it used to be. So it's back to just the good feeling of keeping soot out of the intake again.
