I did get slightly better MPG on mine as well, but I have begun taking a new route to work (less hilly) and the temperatures have been rising 3-4C in the last week or so. I dare not say that the solution really does improve MPG, but I do know that my MPG has increased recently - I just cannot say if it is the route, the weather or the EGR stuff which has done it.

My EVIC normally shows me 10.6 - 10.7 l / 100kms before SEGR. Now it shows 9.9l/100km and seems to be stable there.

Also still waiting for my next fill-up, to see wheter my EGR modification caused better fuel consumption or not ... so far it looks the same, but I didn't get a good chance yet, to test it with a full tank of constant driving .... my last few trips ranged from 60km/h in town, to 120km/h on the highway for about 30km ....so it a bit of a mix and match ...
I DID however do my EHM and EGR at the same time .... so SURELY there should be SOME difference?
Talking about EHM .... I was quite SHOCKED, when I saw the smoke/smog/oil vapour, that came out of the EHM hose, and that while the Jeep was only IDLING!! :shock:

Inoticed if idleing over a period od time ,you will see alot of smoke after wards,think there some u can add to help it

Got a question for you Sonix ,dont know if you will know the answer but here goes,i wouldnt mind importing either a splitscreen camper or vw karmann ghia to UK from South Africa can they still be bought for reasonable money or have the prices gone silly like they have in California?.

Last trip was 27 MPG, my record so far has been 24 MPG.

Trip was done mostly at 60MPH, where the other trip was done for extreme fuel economy at 45MPH.

It's a nice feeling this. I think after the high speed air erosion has cleaned a bit of the soot which had settled on the intake it has helped the MPGs.

Just to let you guys know. Without the EGR you pump out more toxins that couse acid rain. Bad for your paint

And why did you also block the line that goes to the EGR control valve? The way you had it at first is enough to not let it work anymore.

Keep the rubber connector on the control valve, just take out the plastic line that goes to the EGR valve, put a bolt in the rubber connector to prevent dust and stuff to be sucked into the control valve.

Hi tony - yes I know it is a "crime" because it suddenly doesn't live up to EURO3 standards anymore. Well, probably doesn't.

We get tested every 2 years, at inspection time out comes the bolts and the EGR will be working again. After inspection, EGR goes bye bye.

I initially plugged the wrong hose. You only need to plug the one going to the vacuum pump in the engine. The one going to your EGR valve you can leave be, sitting on the modulator. No problem.

Yes I should also put some little "condom" on the modulator to keep dirt coming into it (now that's a new application for a known technology I might file a patent on that :lol:

)

My l/100km has now dropped from 10.5 to 9.8 and stays there. Very good I say. We still get cold mornings around here (down to 1C) so it can't just be a weather change, the EGR mod must have done something good as well

At first I thought it wouldn't do anything, because my MPGs stayed the same, but after 200-300 kms the MPGs got better suddenly. I think it is because the soot which has deposited on the valves have been eroded by the air and now lets more air into my cylinders. I'm sure if I plug the EGR back again now it will keep the MPGs up until enough is deposited again to restrict airflow.

Morning starts are also easier, and more importantly less soot is put into the engine oil when you run without EGR.
