wonder will this fuel filter work on 02 crd liberty [cherokee]
seems to last longer and may be chaeaper
doent look like my crd filter but its fitted to 2.8 crd and i dont have 2.8 so dont know

Nope it won't. We have a fuel heater and water sensor at the bottem of our filter in the 'glass' bowl. The 2.8 has it on top.

What you could try is a complete unit of a 2.8. Then you can fit this filter...but I don't know if the connectors fit or if they do the same thing on the 2.8.


Been looking for you, found out that the 52128698AA Filter has also been used on 3.7L and 2.4L gasoline (!!) engines.

just looking for better fuel filter and cheaper,will go to parts some day soon with old fuel filter as they say they may be able to match up
just dont want to pay stealership 65 euros for fuel filter [noobs] :)

There might be hope for us...

This www.ipspartssrl.com is a parts company in Italy. The ref for the fuel filter is IFG3997. Their online store isn't working though.... :cry:

On my 2.8 I don't have those sensors on top. Mine is in the bottom as well. I'm glad it is like that because the other design sucks and lets air into the fuel head.

I think this is another of those euro - US differences.

rang steslership yesterday to get price on filter and they wanted 68.50 euros :shock: :shock: ,i laugh on phone,all i could do,so i sourceing one out and will buy a couple of them so have few spares,because diesel and petrol goes up,so does parts, bull ssssssssssss

was thinking of buying wrangler unlimited with 4 doors and convert into commerical ,would still keep my libby,as shes geared out and alot of fun,anyways, may buy a wrangler at end of year,but crap like this putts me off,probly wait till end of year or early next year and buy used one

oil filters are cheap,only arounf 11 euros
crd fuel filter is 68 euros with dealer
change it every 10,000 miles

what confuses me about these guys is it say the replacement filter for my 2.5 crd is IFL3097 on r2516k engine
my engine is VM
what gives :?:

Yeah that's weird because the VM motori code is R425.

And that they use the same fuel filter code for the old XJ as for our KJ's.

You could send them an Email if they have a sales partner in Ireland!
