My Aunt and a bunch of cousins still live out on High Street Road, which the county just got around to naming about twenty years ago. My grandma and Uncle are buried in Olive Branch Cemetery.

I was hoping to make it down to the farm for deer season, but it's the week before my final exams. I plan to go down next year for some good fishing, unless my (hopefully) new job takes me too far away.

Click twice on "Zoom In" (the + sign under the little yellow stick figure) and you should see the farm where my dad was born. The lake is to the left and was created after the coal company dammed up an old strip pit after they screwed up my Uncle's well by mining too close to the house.

Cool
Yes the strip miners did a lot of ah less than wonderful things to a lot of the landscape / farms and even wells throughout the years. Nice size lake though. Someday I'll have to tell you about a cornfield , a womans shoe, bra, and waking up between Harrisville and Cadiz

There are alot of those old buildings all over in these little towns, losed up, deteriorating, etc. Sad to see them over the new strips malls and Wally's everywhere.
I drive by a little market on my way home form work, place is always busy, just a hole in the wall. Funny it stays busy when about a mile, maybe mile and half is a big strip mall, Walmart, kohl's, restaraunts, etc. Guess people like a quick stop in and out place.

The only thing I disagree with it the term "pop". A pop is what ya get across the nose, a soda is what ya drink! I know I know I am as yank as it gets but sheeeeeeesh a soda is a soda. My Dad used to "pop" me  :ROTFL:
Excellent trip back in time Tom and thank you for sharing! It is a shame that small pieces of America are falling off like that along with the closeness neighbors used to share. Not only did ya know your next door neighbor but ya also knew the folks across town, not to mention what was going on in everyone's life.
I blame it all on the microwave, Walmart, Kroger and imported beer :ROTFL:

And since I can't sleep I find dumb cute jokes to make me laugh

why is it 3:42 in the AM,
what time did I tell John to be ready??

so on with tonight's monologue

A little girl asked her mother, "Can I go outside and play with
the boys?"
Her mother replied, "No, you can't play with the boys, they're
too rough."
The little girl thought about it for a few moments and asked,
"If I can find a smooth one, can I play with him?"

drum beat

A certain little girl, when asked her name, would reply,
"I'm Mr. Sugarbrown's daughter."
Her mother told her this was wrong, she must say,
"I'm Jane Sugarbrown."
The Vicar spoke to her in Sunday School, and said,
"Aren't you Mr. Sugarbrown's daughter?"
She replied, "I thought I was, but Mother says I'm not."

Ever notice how a 4-year-old's voice is louder than 200 adult
voices?
Several years ago, I returned home from a trip just when a storm
hit, with crashing thunder and severe lightning.
As I came into my bedroom about 2 a.m., I found my two children
in bed with my wife, Karey, apparently scared by the loud storm.
I resigned myself to sleep in the guest bedroom that night.
The next day, I talked to the children and explained that it was
O.K. to sleep with Mom when the storm was bad, but when I was
expected home, please don't sleep with Mom that night.
They said OK.
After my next trip several weeks later, Karey and the children
picked me up in the terminal at the appointed time.
Since the plane was late, everyone had come into the terminal to
wait for my plane's arrival, along with hundreds of other folks
waiting for their arriving passengers.
As I entered the waiting area, my son saw me, and came running
shouting,
"Hi, Dad! I've got some good news!"
As I waved back, I said loudly, "What's the good news?"
Alex shouted,
"Nobody slept with Mommy while you were away this time!"
The airport became very quiet, as everyone in the waiting area
looked at Alex, then turned to me, and then searched the rest of
the area to see if they could figure out exactly who his Mom
was.

Hey baby I hear the blues a'callin'
Tossed Salads and Scrambled Eggs
And maybe I seem a bit confused
Well, maybe, but I got you pegged
But I don't know what to do with those
Tossed Salads and Scrambled Eggs
They're callin' again
they're calling again

Good Night Ohio

I don't know what's worse: Posting jokes at 3:42, or being awake at 4:07 to read them.

Thanks for the laugh(s), Tom! :ROTFL:

Where do you live at in NW OH Tom? I'm in Defiance. I'm not very active on here as I am on Powerstroke.org. Is there ever any get togethers? :(

I appreciate the jokes too at 4am. Gotta go to work soon.
