Hi Guys
This is Paul, Matt's son. I am sad to report that Matt has passed away today. He went to the hospital last Thursday for a minor TIA and was released. On Saturday, he was complaining of a headache to his wife, Laura and they decided to go to the hospital. He walked in under his own power. After that, he went downhill. Out and unresponsive. He was flown down to Stanford and Laura and I drove down. An MRI showed a massive bleed in the right region of the brain. He was kept alive artificially for the night and day today, but the neurosurgions felt with all certainty that he was brain dead and had no chance for recovery. He passed away about 4:30 today.
I will keep you guys posted on memorial services and were to send well wishes to Laura.
Thanks and take care of yourselves. Life is fragile.
Paul

Paul, thank you for posting. My deepest regards to you and Laura on his most untimely passing. I remember last year about this time when his mother passed away, now to hear that he is gone as well is truly saddening. Be well, and take care.

Its strange how losing a member here that I have never even met feels no different than losing a good friend. But thats what this place is all about, good friends sharing good times and bad. I am sorry for your loss and will keep you and your family in prayer.

And well said by the way. Life is fragile.
