Hi all,

New to the group, I've had my CRD for about a month. I'm looking for somewhere in Maryland to take it off road for a little while. I know once I get out there "stock" won't be good enough, but I want to try out the 4-wheel action before too long. I'm not looking for rock crawling, or even huge mud holes, maybe just some trails or dirt roads that get a little slippery after it rains.

I already have a long wish-list of mods I want to do including a lift and new tires, but combined with paying for the KJ and insurance the lift and tires won't come soon enough.

Welcome to the club. If you're really set on Maryland there really isn't much wheeling to be had here. You could check out Greenridge State Park out in western Maryland, or pay for a pass to drive the beach at Assateague. Other than that, I don't know of any legal places to wheel in Maryland. Might I suggest you join us at George Washington National Forest in Virginia on the 22nd. We will be doing a stock friendly ride as well as a more advanced ride for the guys with the mods and the b@lls. As long as you have a tow hook somewhere just in case, you would be fine.
