Nice find blackjeep! Do you know if they have free shipping? Wow, they would be nailing a coffin in all the other places if they do! Has anyone ever ordered from these guys before?

Still haven't opened the box yet. I was given really short notice that the buyer of my house wanted to do the final walk through a whole day earlier, so I had to finish moving and cleaning. I worked on that house for 13 hours straight yesterday! I'll try to open the box tonight.

partsformyjeep.com is a dealer (Quality Jeep) in New Mexico...it appears that you get charged shipping (UPS Ground). They do say free pick-up... :D

Good info Blue KJ in PA! Now I gotta figure out how to modify the original post to list this... :?

Update...still haven't opened box. Entire house is filled with stuff. With the assistance of a big ol' bottle of cheap rum and a few 2-liters of Coke, I'm gonna get all that junk sorted and stored in the attic or the shed TONIGHT! Even if it kills me. I will then open the (by this point) infamous Box Of Skids and document what it actually contains. Sorry about all the delays. Trying to build KJ, change careers, sell house, move, and get married alllLLLLLlll at the same time.

Name the movie:
"He's not just famous...he's INfamous."

That's how it works - feast or famine! In a few years you'll have more time and get into more trouble!

I think you will find that both the transmission skid package AND the transfer case skid package come each with nutzerts and a nutzert installing bolt/tool thing - it's all part of the plactic wrapped hardware that includes the bolts. Mine did, and I ordered from the same place you did.

Also id like to know what I should use as a spacer. I got that Fumoto valve and I want to extend the plates a tad. Do I just get a nut like Priell3 did? or is there something I can use?

At long last, I got a moment to open the box and take some picts.

The fuel tank skid comes with four big honking bolts and an instruction manual. I have a feeling I'll have a couple bolts left over though, since I have the Mopar rear receiver.

Fuel Tank - #L82206122

The transfer case skid is a triangular piece. Comes shipped with a little white box zip-tied to it.

Transfer Case - #L82209455

The tranny skid really impressed me. Heavy as can be, multiple plates welded together, looks like a great design! It's two pieces of metal welded together into a quasi box-frame design. I can't want to bang some rocks with this thing!! Comes with a little white box zip-tied to it.

Transmission- #L82210003

Little white box zip-tied to tranny skid contains:
• Parts list/instruction manual
• 2 bolts
• 2 nutzerts
• Baggie with nutzert install tool and nutzert install manual

Lou making sure all the parts are there...

And here's my new Reese front receiver...

I can't wait to put all this stuff on my truck! My Daystar lift should be here before too aweful long as well, then I'll be ready to put some scars on these skids!

hillcountrykj - Sorry, I don't know the bolt size off the top of my head.

0311_DoC - I believe I would just use spacers between the skid and the truck to lower the trailing edge of the engine skid. Think 1/4" would be enough extra room? Go much beyond that and you might think about getting new bolts to make up for the extra distance.

I can vouch for the necessity of both the transmission and transfer plate skids. Without them, I would have left my driveline on the bottom of a water filled creek due to all the hidden large boulders below the water line.

I also noticed that the CRD front engine skid is only about 1/8" thick compared to the 3/8" thickness at just the mounting tabs of the transmission skids. Even so, I think the pre-formed shape of the CRD engine skid helps quite a bit. I ran into some rocks with it and it did not bend!

Check out my cardomain page for yesterdays advertures...

I would not leave the pavement without the transmission skid - it's just WAY exposed down there - and that's what took the most hits yesterday by a long shot!

Do you remember the part number for your front hitch? And where did you order it? I can only assume the 05 and 06 are the same in the front where it would be mounted.

Front Hitch from Draw-Tite was #65042 now Reese 13542
Rear Hitch Draw-Tite #75128, Reese 37053

Some places may still have the Draw-tite front hitches in stock and on sale since they are not making them anymore. Either way Draw-Tite and Reese are the same company.

I saw your picts AllJeep. Very cool! I'm glad to hear that, even if the CRS engine skid is thinner, it still takes a beating. Now I feel better about my choice.

I can try to PDF the instructions 0311_DoC, but it might take a little while. Still in the midst of moving and getting ready for the wedding, selling the house, changing jobs, etc., etc., etc. After shooting those picts, the steel was all packed back into boxes and pushed back into the shed. I might accidentally pull it all out this weekend though, so look for instruction picts (and install picts???) next week maybe. At worst, I'll snap a shot of each page. My camera should make them readable.

And, yep, the 05s and 06s are the same in the front. My Reese front hitch was part #R13542 from hitchfinder.com (aka draw-tite.com). After talking with AllJeep and a couple other guys here on the forum, I decided to buy the thing since it was only a bit over $100 and the Mopar tow hooks are near $100. No brainer. I went online and picked the part, ordered, gave them my CC info and closed the sale with a nice printed receipt. They sent me an email the next day and said, "There's a problem with your order. We don't have it and they don't make it any more." I called them up and the CSR told me the same thing that the email said. I asked what they could do about it and she put me on hold. She same bacj a few minutes later and said, "We found one. It's in California though, so it'll take longer." I asked if was the same on I ordered (with the tow loops) and she said "yes" so I told her I didn't care how long it took to get to me.

Hitchfinder.com changed their website within an hour of my phone call. It now states that there are no front-mount hitch receivers available for the KJ. I think I got the last one.

AllJs (bouderbars.com) has a couple of them left though. I would suggest ordering one if you ever think you might want one. I don't know if anyone will ever make it again.

I was not aware of Hitchfinder.com being connected to Reese/Drawtite company, but that does not mean much. I went to www.draw-tite.com and www.reeeseprod.com to get my number then went to a local dealer who then ordered my front hitch. I picked it up from the two days later. The front hitch I ordered from www.etrailer.com. I just checked etrtailer and they only have the hiddenhitch (2 piece) version.

I have these leftover from my Mopar transmission skid. On their way to 0311_DoC.
