Yeah o8K that's the plan. BBC for breakfast. what's everybody think? 730 or 8. Be out and headed for the trail by 9.

I think you would be fine climbing in the back of the truck in town. There are some "desert" areas outside town too that would be safe.

I'm planning the Bisbee area to take a few hours and a few more in douglas.

It looks like we're going to have to sit this one out. Our family never does any holiday as scheduled, and so we're doing Thanksgiving on Saturday. Plus, new puppies! We'll see if they become Jeepie dogs.

They are mutts (Chow Chow and other things, including maybe Beauceron? They both have double dew claws), about twelve weeks old.

Happy T Day to everyone!!!

Mike, are we meeting at the Bisbee Breakfast Club Saturday morning, what time? If not, what time and where?

AJ

And to think I was down in Douglas yesterday. My company sent me down there to pick up a load on E. 3rd St. Saw the boarder crossing as I turned onto 3rd. Made for a long day, down there and back to Phoenix.

Glad to try to make this and looking forward to the trails.

Signcutter21 responded!!!
I'm doing my best to try to make this.
One reason is my time is needed to get my mild lift installed as ALL my parts are in. (isolators, rear spring air bags, KK forks).
But events are important (and fun) too!
So I hope to see you soon.

Roland

The "2nd Annual Thanksgiving Day Boarder Run" is now in the history books!!! All I can say is... "what a fun trip that had everything from A ~ Z"!!!

We had dinner at a nice Mexican place Friday night with Casey. After dinner we met up with Roland and had a few beers at a biker bar. Someone who will remain unnamed, suggested that Beth become a pole dancer, but that idea was quickly laid to rest.

Saturday morning we met up with Mike and Tom, Roland and Casey at the Bisbee Breakfast Club... then it was off for a fun day on the trail going through the "wash" (were I crunched the end of my tailpipe on the new JK. Later we stopped by Mike's home to pick up Katelynn and did a run along the border. I won't go into any details other than to say we had several interesting moments. On the way out it got dark and the run turned into the 1st Annual Thanksgiving Day "Night" Run". As it got dark, Roland decided he wanted to break something... his left rear spring popped out while crossing a tippy spot. With help from a few of the guys, he got it back together and we made it back into town.

By now the temperature had dropped and the wind picked up. On our way into town we stopped at a Circle K to get coffee and hot coca to take with us to watch the Douglas Christmas Parade. Then we all went to dinner. We talked about the run we just completed and the upcoming F.I.T.S. 2009. I'll let Mike post up what we taked about in that thread.

After dinner we all went our seperate ways.

Mike... it was a fun trip, thanks for leading us through the wilderness and border area of southeast Arizona.

Here are a few pics I took, but being at the end of the line I didn't get that many action shots.

Everyone thanks for coming down. I had a really good day wheeling, eating and parading with all of you.

ATTN: Everybody who didn't make it.Per AJ's suggestion, next year we're gonna be in the parade. :) Especially since the walmart truck didn't make it.

I reinspected and evaluated my rear suspension and parts and everything is OK! My lift project has new rear socks that were installed on my for now stock application. Hence the wild articulation in the CRD photo above but it leaves the springs totally extended and just hanging there by the bumpstops set in the middle. So that tippy hole shot the left spring out of place and replacement back to the correct place was fortunately easy!

Thank you all in the group for your attention and help. You are a great bunch of guys! (thanks to 08K for breaking out tools only to stow them away unused)
And Thank You AZ LOST Douglas division for a great run and for the great decision on trail selection! I had a wonderful time!!

FITS 2009 was discussed at dinner and I was glad to offer input. I hope it all works out - as it is less than 2 months to the event. I understand this to be a host club effort and I will help where I can. I know there are other members willing to offer help too.

Roland

PS I will post my pics soon!
