The "2nd Annual Thanksgiving Day Boarder Run" is now in the history books!!! All I can say is... "what a fun trip that had everything from A ~ Z"!!!
We had dinner at a nice Mexican place Friday night with Casey. After dinner we met up with Roland and had a few beers at a biker bar. Someone who will remain unnamed, suggested that Beth become a pole dancer, but that idea was quickly laid to rest.
Saturday morning we met up with Mike and Tom, Roland and Casey at the Bisbee Breakfast Club... then it was off for a fun day on the trail going through the "wash" (were I crunched the end of my tailpipe on the new JK. Later we stopped by Mike's home to pick up Katelynn and did a run along the border. I won't go into any details other than to say we had several interesting moments. On the way out it got dark and the run turned into the 1st Annual Thanksgiving Day "Night" Run". As it got dark, Roland decided he wanted to break something... his left rear spring popped out while crossing a tippy spot. With help from a few of the guys, he got it back together and we made it back into town.
By now the temperature had dropped and the wind picked up. On our way into town we stopped at a Circle K to get coffee and hot coca to take with us to watch the Douglas Christmas Parade. Then we all went to dinner. We talked about the run we just completed and the upcoming F.I.T.S. 2009. I'll let Mike post up what we taked about in that thread.
After dinner we all went our seperate ways.
Mike... it was a fun trip, thanks for leading us through the wilderness and border area of southeast Arizona.
Here are a few pics I took, but being at the end of the line I didn't get that many action shots.
