Having a tough time locating 3/4" heat-resistant and oil-resistant hose. Any tips on where to find this?

Search for "hose and fitting" stores or any place that sells fuel rated hoses. I bought black oil resistant hoses from a place near me.

Alright, did the install today. I got some Nylon-braided clear PVC hose from Lowe's, and ran it down to an old 80 oz honey bottle I Gorilla-taped to the frame directly beneath the fuel filter. The honey bottle worked perfect because the "handle" indention fit the bend in the brake line there perfectly. I used a 3/4 inch garden hose nipple and cap to plug the old inlet line. Also installed my V6 Airbox and cleaned the MAP sensor. Happy so far; as soon as I finished up the project I went through the carwash to make sure the bottle would stay.

Strange thing about the MAP - last time I cleaned it, it was dry and caked with soot. Since then, I've been running the ORM. This time, it was oily and black. I wonder why it was not both caked with soot AND oily and black last time? I'm not overfilling it with oil - 6.4 qts measured not at the dipstick but with a measuring cup. Is the soot from the EGR really that bad, where the ratio of soot to oil in the intake is so overwhelming that the soot negates the oil? Huh.

I've never had any issues with mine.... I ran a hose all the way down to my rock rail and have it attached just in front of the driver door...

It just puffs away down there and I never smell a thing... the oil dries before it ever makes it out of the hose so I just replace the hose once a year or so. Pretty easy.

I bought 4' of clear vinyl 3/4" ID hose at Ace with two clamps for less then a few dollars and rigged it as per Old Navy's original instructions:

I inserted a water bottle sports top and clamped it on in the open position (sorry for the blur):

Punched three holes in the base of bottle and stuffed it with a couple of 2X2 gauze pads followed by a dozen or so paper towels (I call the EHM snot rags):

I figure I can change out the bottle as needed.

Oh, and I chose a Rosemount Estates Cab-Shiraz synthetic cork. The wine paired quite well with elk loin steaks.

BE careful here! I used that clear hose and when it gets hot from the heat of the engine, it collapses. When that happens it forces oil out of the engine in places you don't want.
You could get an old screen door spring and stretch it out and stuff inside the hose.
I went to a hydraulic hose shop and got 3/4 inch suction hose that is heat proof and already has the spring molded inside the hose. You can tie it in a knot and it will not collapse. It was only about $10 for 8 feet of the stuff.

AZ CRD, Is it possible the water would condense in the pop bottle, freeze in cold weather, and then plug?[/b]

I'm not AZCRD, but I can answer: Yes. Take a look at OldNavy's "Alphabet Soup" write-up in the tech section.

I live in a dirty, filthy desert that rarely even briefly gets down to 32F so that's not a problem I have to worry about. But, you're right. When I travel to NM or UT in the winter I would need to remove it.

I found this oil separator kit online intended for Mustangs. I'm wondering if it might not work as well (or better given its smaller size) as the Provent at less than half the cost.
