I had the right fluid, new Suncoast torque converter, new transmission pump and I torqued the bolts down using a torque wrench.
I did not use loctite on all the t/c bolts and after 40,000 miles they backed out and wiped out my t/c and drive plate.

Thanks for sharing your experience. Did the Suncoast unit shudder from the beginning or did it take awhile to show up? If it took many thousands of miles to show up then it could be the bolts backing out. If it was present right from the beginning then I find it extremely hard to believe it can be blamed on the bolts especially since you torqued them to the correct spec with your torque wrench.

I also didn't get shudder with the old TC with GDE Hot Tune at WOT runs as the TC wouldn't lockup at the lower rpm's where enough torque was generated to bottom the springs out. But once locked up in 3rd-5th if my rpm's where below ~2k I could get shudder at will.

If it Shuddered from day one and not after some extensive driving indicating bolts coming loose, any good Torque Converter supplier including SunCoast would warranty it. I would go so far as to believe a trustworthy online supplier such as MoparPartsAmerica would do the same, some Stealers on the other hand would be a case by case basis.

I have the original suncoast converter and the gde hot tune. I always had some shutter around 45-55 mph but after recently racing a buddy on the highway near 110mph. I now have terrible shutter. What happened im sick of this shutter bs.

I would call and talk to Ron over at Suncoast. they are really good to work with, and since i have the new springs no shudder. the only issue that appears now is; when i come to a stop the suncoast seems to bring the engine down a bit more than the stock. it never stalls, i assume b/c it heavier.

Sorry to hear about your troubles. That sucks. Could you give us more details on the history of your vehicle? Things like was the GDE HOT tune before/after the TC upgrade, who did the TC upgrade, what type of ATF fluid was used, was the pump replaced/altered/left alone, etc. There was a recent thread about those 4 bolts coming loose that caused a bunch of problems . . .
