I pulled and cleaned my MAP sensor Saturday, but I'm still getting a Check Engine Light even after scanning and erasing the codes. It's giving me codes for Turbo underboost (directly related to MAP sensor) and insufficient EGR flow.

Strangely enough too, when I cleared the codes (again) yesterday evening and drove it, it seemed smoother and more powerul. Then when I head to work this morning, the CEL comes on while waiting in the drive-thru and it seemed to run rougher the rest of the trip.

I guess it's time for ORM and SEGR. . .

Check you air filter, and while yer in there, peer in at the MAF - if it's scuzzy, clean it - then check the Boost hoses - then, it's EGR and AFC valve time......................

Did both of those. Cleaned the K&N, pulled the top housing off the filter box and sprayed the MAF really thoroughly with MAF cleaner. Used chlorine-free brake parts cleaner on the MAP sensor and brushed it with a toothbrush. The only thing I didn't check was whether there may be an obstruction on my stock air box inlet. Can't figure out where exactly the opening on the thing is.

Didn't check the boost hoses. And what's the AFC valve?

Had the same scenerio on ours. Put in a new MAP sensor instead of cleaning. Still had CEL and it ended up being the EGR. After driving for a while it went back off. I think the EGR is working intermitently. SEGR mod. is on the way.

That's what I'm leaning towards, since I'm getting a code for "Insufficient EGR Flow". The "Turbo Underboost" code concerns me, though - cleaning the MAP sensor should have solved that, huh?

I have to get it inspected in June, (won't pass with the CEL on) and I'm not sure I'm up to the technical challenge of the SEGR. Give me a wrench and I'll turn it all day long, but I am seriously not good with electrical/ electronic stuff.

I am in the same boat. I am mechanically skilled but keep the electricity away from me. I am having a coworker assemble the SEGR box and I'm hoping for the best in regards to splicing it into the Jeeps wiring harness. I am waiting on some instructions to be sent from another forum member. UFO, he is the guy who assembles the kit and he also has install instructions.

Got the e-mail. Thanks much. Just glancing at the instructions it doesn't look too bad. I'm sure I'll have more questions for you once I get to the install. Thanks again.
